Chapter 63 - Misunderstanding

He pops the gummybear into his mouth, enjoying Sanemi's growing frustration. "Maybe Mochi left it there as a present for you?" The cat meows innocently from behind them, as if confirming Giyuu's theory. Sanemi glares at Mochi suspiciously, then at Giyuu. "I'm starting to think you two are conspiring against me." He quickens his pace, trying to maintain his dignity despite the morning chaos. "First the shirt, then the pancake, now this? You're both evil."

The gummybear incident seems to have made him even more determined to make it to class on time. As they sprint across campus, Sanemi's backpack bounces wildly on his back. "We're definitely getting detention for this!" Their shoes pound against the pavement as they dodge other students and race against the clock. "And when we get there, I'm sitting as far away from you as possible!" Despite his threat, he stays right beside Giyuu, not willing to let him out of his sight.

They arrive at the classroom door, both breathing heavily and disheveled. "Professor Urokodaki is going to kill us." Sanemi whispers as he peeks through the window, seeing their teacher already lecturing. "We're so dead. So, so dead." He reaches for the doorknob, steeling himself for whatever punishment awaits them inside. Sanemi takes a deep breath and opens the door, causing all eyes to turn toward them.

"Sorry we're late!" Professor Urokodaki pauses mid-sentence, his stern gaze fixed on the two disheveled students. "Take your seats. Now." The class erupts in whispers as they scurry to their desks, Giyuu still wearing Sanemi's shirt and Sanemi still looking like a mess. Professor Urokodaki's expression darkens as he continues the lecture, occasionally shooting them disapproving glances.

Sanemi notices the look and whispers to Giyuu, mortified. "Did you see his face? He totally thinks we-" He stops himself, blushing furiously at the thought. "This is all your fault for wearing my shirt and making us late!" The rest of the class is torture for Sanemi, who can't focus with Giyuu sitting so close and Urokodaki's knowing looks. He tries to take notes but keeps messing up, his mind racing with embarrassment and the lingering gummybear incident.

Giyuu seems perfectly content, occasionally stealing glances at Sanemi while maintaining his innocent expression. When the bell finally rings, Sanemi bolts from his seat, eager to escape the classroom and the professor's judgmental stare. As Sanemi attempts to leave, Urokodaki calls out in a stern voice. "You two. Stay after class." He stands at the door, blocking their exit with his imposing figure.

"We need to have a discussion about punctuality and... appropriate attire." Sanemi freezes in place, looking like he's just seen a ghost. Giyuu remains calm, but his grip tightens on his bag. The other students file out, leaving them alone with Urokodaki in the now-empty classroom. "I expected better from my top students." The professor's voice carries a hint of disappointment as he walks back to his desk.

"Particularly you, Tomioka. Since when do you wear your boyfriend's clothes to class?" Sanemi chokes on air, completely flustered by the direct confrontation. Giyuu maintains his composure, though a slight blush appears on his cheeks. "It's comfortable, sir."Sanemi can't help but facepalm at Giyuu's nonchalant response.

"And you, Shinazugawa. Care to explain why you're both late?" Urokodaki leans against his desk, arms crossed and waiting expectantly for their excuses. Sanemi stammers, desperately trying to come up with something believable. "Our alarm didn't go off, and then-" He stops, realizing how weak that sounds, especially with Giyuu still wearing his shirt. "It won't happen again, Professor. I promise."

He shoots Giyuu a pleading look, silently begging for help in this awkward situation. Giyuu steps forward, his expression turning serious. "We had a minor disagreement this morning, which caused the delay." Urokodaki raises an eyebrow, clearly not buying the half-truth. "Disagreement? Is that what we're calling it now?" Sanemi looks like he wants the floor to swallow him whole, while Giyuu remains composed despite the professor's skepticism. Urokodaki sighs deeply, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"I don't want to hear about your personal life in my classroom. Detention. Both of you. After school." Sanemi groans audibly, while Giyuu accepts the punishment with a nod. "And Tomioka, return Shinazugawa's shirt before I give you another week of detention." With that, Urokodaki dismisses them, but not before adding one final comment.
