Obanai watches as Mitsuri interacts with Rengoku, his eyes narrowing slightly behind his mask. He pretends to be focused on his food, but his gaze keeps drifting toward Mitsuri whenever she laughs or smiles. "Hey, Obanai, are you even listening?" Tengen waves a hand in front of his face. Obanai snaps out of his thoughts, giving Tengen a sharp look. "Of course I am. Just thinking about how noisy you all are." Mitsuri notices Obanai's mood and turns to him with a bright smile.
"Obanai, do you want some of my food too? I made extra." His expression softens instantly, though he tries to maintain his usual aloof demeanor. "I... suppose I could try some. Since you're offering." Tengen snickers quietly, earning a death glare from Obanai while Giyuu observes the interaction with mild interest. Mitsuri happily places some food on Obanai's plate, completely unaware of his romantic feelings.
"Here you go! It's really tasty, I promise!" Obanai accepts the food with a slight nod, his cheeks tinged pink beneath his mask. "Thank you... Mitsuri." Tengen nudges Rengoku and whispers loudly enough for everyone to hear. "Look at our snake boy getting all flustered!" Obanai's eyes flash dangerously at Tengen's comment, but he keeps his voice low.
"Shut up, Tengen. I'm not flustered." Mitsuri tilts her head innocently, looking between the two boys. "What's wrong? Did I put too much on your plate?" Tengen grins wickedly, clearly enjoying teasing Obanai. "Oh, nothing's wrong. Our dear Obanai is just... enjoying your company." Obanai stands up abruptly, his chair scraping against the floor. "I'm going to get some water."
He stalks away from the table, trying to hide his embarrassment, while Tengen bursts into laughter. "Poor snake boy can't handle a little teasing!" Mitsuri watches Obanai leave with concern. "Did I say something wrong? I hope he's okay..." Shinobu slides into the empty seat next to Giyuu with a knowing smile. "Well, well, what did I miss? Tengen's teasing Obanai again?" Tengen grins at her arrival. "Just the usual. Though today's entertainment involves our favorite couple here."
He gestures dramatically at Sanemi and Giyuu, who both groan in unison. Shinobu's eyes sparkle with mischief as she examines Giyuu's outfit. "Oh my, is that Sanemi's shirt? How... interesting." She takes a sip of her drink, her smile growing wider. "And here I thought you two couldn't stand each other." Sanemi throws his hands up in frustration.
"We can't! It's just a shirt, Shinobu!" Giyuu remains calm, but there's a slight tension in his shoulders as he meets Shinobu's knowing gaze. Shinobu leans forward, resting her chin on her hand with a playful smirk. "Just a shirt? Then why is it you're wearing it, Giyuu? And why does Sanemi look like he's about to explode?" Tengen leans in conspiratorially.
"Because they're roommates now! They had a little... incident this morning." Mitsuri gasps again, while Rengoku watches with interest, still eating his food. Sanemi slams his forehead on the table in defeat. "I hate all of you." Shinobu laughs softly, enjoying his misery. "Come now, Sanemi. You know we're just having fun. Besides..." She glances between him and Giyuu with a sly grin.
"It's quite cute how you're both pretending nothing happened." Giyuu finally speaks up, his voice steady but with a hint of annoyance. "There's nothing to pretend. It was an accident. The heater broke in our room, and I got cold." Tengen snorts disbelievingly. "Sure, sure. And that's why Sanemi's shirt is practically a dress on you?" Sanemi raises his head just enough to glare at everyone.
"I swear I'm going to murder all of you in your sleep." Mitsuri giggles nervously, trying to diffuse the tension. "Now, now, Sanemi. Violence isn't the answer!" Shinobu leans back, clearly enjoying the chaos. "But it would make for such interesting gossip. Imagine what the other students would say if they knew our top student and his 'roommate' were sharing clothes."
Giyuu shoots her a warning look, while Sanemi looks ready to explode again. Sanemi stands up suddenly, grabbing his tray. "I'm leaving. This is torture." He starts to walk away, but Giyuu unexpectedly grabs his sleeve. "Sit down. Running away won't help."
The entire table falls silent, watching the interaction with wide eyes. Shinobu whispers to Tengen.
"Did he just...?" Sanemi freezes, staring at Giyuu's hand on his sleeve with a mix of surprise and irritation. "Let go, Giyuu." Giyuu maintains his grip, his expression calm but firm. "No. You're being childish." Sanemi stumbles back into his seat, caught off guard by Giyuu's strength. Tengen leans over to Shinobu, whispering loudly. "Did he just call Sanemi childish? This is better than any drama I've watched!" "What the hell, Giyuu?!" Giyuu leans closer, his voice low but intense.
"Stop making this worse. Just eat your lunch." The other students at nearby tables start to notice the commotion, their whispers growing louder. Shinobu fans herself dramatically. "My, my. Someone's getting feisty today." Sanemi grumbles but stays seated, crossing his arms defiantly. "Fine. But I'm still mad at you all." Mitsuri claps her hands excitedly. "Aww, look at you two being all domestic! When did this happen?" Tengen smirks knowingly.
"About time someone could handle our angry wind boy." Sanemi shoots Tengen a death glare while Giyuu remains stoic beside him. "Shut up, Tengen. It's not what you think." Shinobu raises an eyebrow skeptically. "Oh? Then what exactly is it? Because sharing clothes and fighting like an old married couple sounds pretty domestic to me." Giyuu sighs deeply, clearly regretting his earlier decision to speak up.
"We're just... dealing with a situation. That's all." The bell rings, signaling the end of lunch period. Sanemi quickly stands up, grabbing his tray. "Thank god. Finally." He starts to walk away, but pauses to look back at Giyuu. "Meet me at the training grounds after class. We need to talk about... everything."
Giyuu nods silently, watching as Sanemi disappears into the crowd of students leaving the cafeteria. As Sanemi disappears, Shinobu leans over to Giyuu with a teasing smile. "Sounds like someone's in trouble. Or maybe something else?" Tengen slings an arm around Giyuu's shoulders. "Don't worry, man. We'll help you survive whatever's coming." Mitsuri gathers her things excitedly.
