Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Style versus Art

There's a demon I'm after, Jacob. Once I've killed it, I'll join your quest, and we can save the world together_ just as you wish," I said, hanging my dark long blade on my back.

 "One demon, Just one."

Your giving up the opportunity to rain down hell on the horde itself because of one demon that you're not even sure if it's alive or dead, Jacob yelled out_ spit pouring out his mouth to my face.

It's Alive Jacob, i know very well that it is, a being so powerful like that cannot be killed so easily, i said wiping the spits out my face with my sleeve.

"How do you know that?" Jacob asked, our eyes steady on each other.

I don't, but something in me tells me it's alive, i responded.

"Fool just like me, you're supposed to be angry_ ready to kill any of those beings at any time." They took your family from you. Your wife was violated, and all you could do was watch because you were powerless," Jacob said, his anger flaring as the air around us grew hot.

Who told you about that, Jacob?" I demanded to know, my voice icy. My blood ignited with heat and anger, knuckles clenched so tightly they turned white.

"I see it all, Alucard! Your wife was violated. Your child was eaten alive_ both screamed out for help still you couldn't render any cause your body refused to obey your command, that's an excuse for a child.

You watched them satisfied their lust with her body, and still did nothing. And you dare call yourself a Blade Art user? Their blood is on your hands, not the hordes!"

"Jacob spits, you couldn't even protect your own family_ you're a failed man!"

Jacob!!!" I roared, my anger erupting. My fist flashed toward his gut before he could react_ the impact hurled him off the tower. With Blade Arts: God Step, I reappeared midair and drove another blow into his chest armor, sending him crashing down hard into the ground.

 "Boom"

 The earth trembled.

"Blade Arts: Air Step," I chanted, slowing my descent by walking on air until my feet touched the ground.

As the dust settled down_ Jacob stood, no injury, no blood, he walked out of the rubble like all my attacks from earlier had no effect on him.

"Come now, Alucard," Jacob said, brushing rubble off his armor. "If I hadn't used Swordsman Style: God Shield, your attacks would've killed me. I didn't mean to enrage you_ I just spoke the truth." His smile hinted at something i couldn't get my mind to understand.

How do you know about the horror my family went through?" I growled, my grip tightening on my blade. A crimson aura radiated from my body. "Speak, and I might grant you a quick death."

"You see i possess a skill called Past Eyes," Jacob said, unsheathing his blue great sword. "As the name suggests, it lets me see anyone's past. That's how I knew about your talent_ your ancestors story_ and your family before you told me, though it only works when the person is asleep or dead."

"Now you die, Jacob," I growled, my grip tightening on the hilt of my blade. In a flash, I sprinted forward, blade aimed at his heart_ a strike meant to end it all.

 "Bimm,"

 He defended with his sword.

Then my blade clashed with his sword, multiple times over.

Every clash sent shockwaves through the earth, cobblestones shattering beneath us like glass. The air itself trembled."

This is interesting Alucard!, "Swordsman Style; Devouring Sword Style," Jacob chanted Three spectral lion heads erupted from his sword, their jaws wide enough to swallow a man whole. I barely rolled aside as their teeth gnashed the air where my head had been."

"Blade Arts: Three Way Slash!" I chanted immediately. Our skills collided_ a cataclysmic explosion erupted, obliterating five towering buildings. Jacob crashed into the ground_ I was hurled backward, slamming into the remnants of the tower, blood spilled from my mouth, my ribs screamed out in pain.

"Beesh." I pushed the massive stone off my body and staggered to my feet. Slowly, I walked out of the tower, the dust settling around me, blood spilling from my lips. Jacob was crawling from the crater, his armor cracked. Blood spilling from his face.

My anger surged, like a volcano about to erupt. Blade Arts; God Step. Like lightning, I closed the gap between us, my blade hovering inches away from his throat.

"Kill me, Alucard! If your judgement deems it so," Jacob said, letting his sword clatter to the ground, stretching both hands sideways freely into the air.

"Ah... ah... ah... ah..." I steadied my breath. "No, I'm not going to kill you. In the end, you're right_ I couldn't protect my family." I sheathed my blade across my back.

"Why spare me?" Jacob knelt, blood dripping from his lips and head.

"For starters, you held back. If you hadn't, you would have given me a very tough time or you would have claimed victory, since am still recovering from my last battle."

I collapsed onto the rubble, staring at the smoke_ choked sky. Vultures circled.

"Is that all?" Jacob wiped his mouth, sheathing his sword, then he hung it around his waist.

"One of us dying here surely will doom the other. Alone, we perish. Together, we might just survive the horde." My voice soft and exhausted.

Jacob frowned. "Too late. Our little battle had led them right to us."

A chorus of guttural roars erupted.

From the ruins, demons emerged_ hulking, red eyes, their claws scraping the earth as they encircled us.
