Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Blood And Trust

"Here, let me help you," Jacob said, stretching his hand forward as I lay on the ground.

"Thanks," I said, taking his hand and pulling myself up.

I thought the horde left the kingdom. So what's going on here? I asked as we both backed each other, our fists clenched. The demons eyes fixed on us, their roars loud and disturbing, with smoke escaping their nostrils, their towering huge red and black body blocked out the sun's light.

The horde moved on, but a few stayed. After our defeat... they think this kingdom is theirs now."

And now to them we are the invaders, Jacob said unsheathing his blue sword. "Let's slaughter them," he said, smiling. The air around us grew hot.

"Agreed," I said, my voice colder than the steel in my grip.

"Arghhhh!" their roar deafening, as they began charging straight at us from all corners.

You take the left side, I'll handle the rest." Jacob dashed forward, his sword a blur as the towering demons fell.

"Show off, I'm not going to let you kill more of this bastards than me, swiftly Alucard dashed towards the demons approaching at him."

One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six_ this is for you, Lily, and for you, my son. Blade Arts: One Thousand Strikes!" I chanted, cleaving through their flesh instantly.

"Thud." They collapsed, blood splashing through the air before their corpses hit the earth.

 But it wasn't over...

"Jacob parried a claw strike, then grinned."

"Ha, he killed six instantly and still he claims his wounds to not have recovered, am not falling behind even though you're talent is superior."

Jacob sprinted forward at the multiple demons in front of him, the huge towering demon launched it's claws at Jacob. Swordsman Style: God Shield.

"Boom," the claws made impact on Jacob, as the dust slowly cleared away_ a blue glowing lion head was seen surrounding jacob.

Swordsman Style: God Cutter, i chanted after defending myself from the attack, instantly a golden towering sword split the air, shearing through demon flesh like parchment.

Thud. Their corpses hit the earth, limbs severed and guts spilling_ the stench of blood covered the air."

"Too easy," Alucard sighed, standing in a distance. flicking blood off his blade.

"I expected a challenge. These were just pests." Alucard said his crimson aura surging, as he began walking down to me, his sword like mine stained with blood which continuously spilled to the ground. His red ninja clothing torn on all parts, his blue eyes staring intently at me, his black hair playing with the wind.

"He's much more smaller than i am, still my skin prickled under the weight of his crimson aura_ a suffocating heat that made my grip tighten on my sword."

 "You exceeded my expectations Alucard."

I will have to train harder to catch up to your kind of strength, Jacob said sheathing his sword.

"Ha, surely you jest." You're incredibly strong for a swordsman, in all my years I've never come across any swordsman on your strength level, Alucard said with a smile.

Getting to this level of strength wasn't easy, becoming the kings guard commander was even harder. "I had to train all day everyday, still there's a limit to the strength of every talent and skills, Jacob explained as we both walked out of the battlefield, before more demons could show up.

"Your wrong about that, growing and evolving has no limit, if you have unlocked every skill given to you then create yours."

Your talent reached its limit, breakthrough it and get to the next level.

"Alucard's smile faded, his eyes serious. "Limits are lies we tell ourselves. Death's the only truth."

As long as you still draw breath then there's no such thing as a limit.

"Heh, i can't believe you're word's are affecting me, though it is easy for you to say when your not a swordsman, Jacob said his smile disappearing."

I know, according to the ranking system our world established. "Blade Arts is ranked Ss+. Magic mage ranked Ss. Sparta style ranked S+. Swordsman Style ranked S."Huh, your ranking isn't bad, your talent comes fourth in the world system, Alucard said stroking his chin.

Being in fourth place is pathetic, "Sparta style," is supposed to come fourth. All they do is carry a shield, long spear and make noises, while we swordsmen train and train with just our sword's and body alone, Jacob said as we continued walking through the destroyed "kingdom of Aslan."

"Sparta style has every reason to be above swordsmen style, Jacob." They begin their training from the age of five while swordsmen begin theirs from age fifteen. At age ten Sparta children begin their ten years of brutal training were only twenty percent succeed, the rest eighty percent either dies off due to the weight of the training or they are killed off by demons, Alucard explained raising his right hand finger into the air.

"How do you know about their training style? am told not even our dead king knew about it, Jacob asked his eyes studying me."

"Ahh," Alucard sighed. In order to activate my "blade Arts talent," i trained in the "kingdom of Sparta,"

"What! activate how? Jacob held Alucard's shoulder's.

Your annoying, Alucard said removing Jacob's hands from his shoulder's, not everything needs an answer friend, sometimes secrets are better when it stays a secret. If one knew everything then life would be bored, Alucard answered, as he continued walking with Jacob.

"You speak the truth, follow me. We cannot casually exit through the kingdom's front gates, though it has been destroyed. But everywhere is still filled with the remnants of the horde," Jacob explained his eyes scanning the surrounding.

 Then....."breem."

Jacob pushed opened the underground tunnel plates, he looked around one more time before jumping in.

"Let's go Alucard, this tunnels leads all the way out to the kingdom," Jacob said, pointing straight ahead into the deep dark tunnel.

Alright, Alucard responded sighing deeply. climbing down into the tunnel, slowly he closed the plate.
