Evening had already settled in when Selina realized Evelin was nowhere to be found.
She'd been waiting at home for hours, expecting her friend to walk through the door any minute. But Evelin never showed. Every call went straight to voicemail.
Panic rising in her chest, Selina immediately dialed Allen's number. "Do you have any idea where Eve is?"
"What happened to her?" Allen's voice sharpened with concern.
"She's completely unreachable. Never came home either," Selina said, pacing the living room.
Silence stretched between them before Allen spoke again. "I'll track her down."
"Please do," Selina breathed.
If anyone could find Eve, it would be Allen with his connections.
An hour later, Selina burst through the police station doors and spotted Allen immediately. Rey stood beside him, looking unnervingly calm.
"You told me on the phone that Jimmy took Eve—what the hell went down?" Selina demanded, her voice cracking with barely controlled fear.
