Everyone froze.
I looked up and spotted Jimmy and Allen pushing through the crowd toward me.
Allen reached me first. "Evelin, what the hell happened?"
"Nothing major," I shrugged it off.
"Nothing major?" Allen's eyes darkened when he caught sight of the bruise blooming across my cheek. "Someone actually hit you?"
"Who was it?" Jimmy's voice sliced through the air like ice.
Some people had been whispering, questioning whether I was really Jimmy's woman.
But watching Jimmy's fury as his gaze swept the room, every doubt vanished.
This was the man who avoided women like the plague, who treated romance like poison—and here he was, practically vibrating with rage over me. What else could I be but his?
