Evelin's POV
Jaxson stared at me, watching tears roll down my cheeks, and something shifted in his expression—like he'd never seen anything quite like it before.
Something felt wrong about this moment. I wasn't supposed to be the crying type. I should be strong, fearless, someone who could rise above anything...
He exhaled slowly, pulled out a handkerchief, and softly brushed away my tears.
I could tell Jaxson had no clue why he'd done it.
"What's going on here?" Thorne's sharp voice sliced through the moment, jolting Jaxson back to himself.
I quickly dried my face, glanced at Jaxson, and managed, "Thank you."
"I knew it! You're totally making moves on Jaxson. Have you no shame?" Thorne charged at me, hand raised to strike, but I grabbed her wrist mid-swing.
Thorne yelped in pain.
"Ms. Elysia, ease up a bit," Jaxson requested.
"Alright, Mr. Thor, I'll cut her some slack this time. But if Miss Thor pulls this stunt again, I won't hold back," I said, releasing Thorne's wrist.
