Evelin's POV
"Let me drive you," Jimmy offered.
"That's not necessary. Mr. Hamilton, please ask your driver to pull over. I can catch a ride with my friend," I declined.
"What if I won't take no for an answer?" Jimmy's lips curved into a subtle smile, his slender fingers maintaining their hold on my wrist.
The coolness of his touch against my flushed skin created an unsettling sensation.
I scowled. "Release me."
Something flickered in Jimmy's gaze as his fingertip traced my wrist with barely-there strokes. "Are you certain you want me to?"
A shiver ran through me as electricity shot from my wrist throughout my entire body. The fire burning inside me blazed hotter.
"Miss Elysia, you appear unwell. Are you positive you still wish to visit the police station?" Jimmy murmured.
I bit my lip, fixated on his slightly open mouth, my throat suddenly parched.
I craved water... Actually, perhaps something entirely different. The fever coursing through me signaled imminent danger.
