Evelin's POV
Allen's face immediately brightened. "Absolutely. I can get you the top divorce attorneys in the city," he offered.
"I appreciate it, but I'd rather handle this on my own," I told him.
His expression darkened with concern. "What's stopping you?"
"Nothing's stopping me. I just can't afford to let this divorce get dragged out," I explained. I understood that once lawyers got involved, the process would stretch on indefinitely. "If things get complicated and I need backup, I'll reach out."
The tension in his features finally relaxed. "Fair enough. I'll be waiting to hear the good news."
Once we wrapped up lunch, I headed to the police station to provide my statement. Both Selina and Allen refused to let me go alone. Since Selina had witnessed the party incident, she also needed to give her account.
The officers informed me that Claire and Dalia remained in custody, with bail set prohibitively high.
