Evelin's POV
His head dipped lower, bringing him dangerously close to me.
Those gorgeous eyes that usually looked dead inside now flickered with something that almost resembled... hunger.
I nearly burst out laughing at the ridiculous thought.
'Get real, Evelin. A guy like Jimmy would never want some hired muscle,' I told myself.
"Plenty of people in this world won't bail on Mr. Hamilton. You don't need me around," I shot back.
Ding dong!
The elevator hit the ground floor and the doors slid open. I bolted out fast.
"You should get yourself checked at the hospital, Mr. Hamilton. I'm done here." I spun around and walked away.
Something about Jimmy screamed danger, and every instinct I had was telling me to run from men like him.
——
Jimmy watched Evelin's figure disappear, then turned to his secretary without warning. "What's your take on winning Evelin over?"
