Jimmy's POV
"Mr. Hamilton!" Dalton's voice cracked with alarm.
The second I lifted the glass toward my lips, he lunged forward and knocked my hand away.
I fixed him with a cold stare. "Move your hand."
"Mr. Hamilton, you can't seriously drink that! Someone spiked it—it'll mess you up bad!" Dalton stammered.
If something really happened to me, would she even give a damn? The thought hit me like a punch to the gut.
Evelin. Always Evelin.
Dalton just stood there, speechless.
"Move. Your. Hand," I repeated, each word sharp as glass.
Dalton's jaw clenched, but he finally stepped back. "Mr. Hamilton, what if you drink this and Evelin doesn't come? Then what?"
"Then I lose," I said simply. Without another word, I downed the entire glass and met his panicked stare. "Now go tell her."
I just need to know if there's any piece of her heart that still belongs to me.
Even if it destroys me, I don't care.
