"Jimmy? Why are you meeting with him?" Selina's eyebrows drew together in confusion.
"I need to discuss Thorne with him," I replied.
"Thorne? What has she pulled now? Didn't Jimmy already announce publicly that he wanted her family to disown her?" Selina pushed.
"They can't just cut her off right now. My brother's life-saver has leukemia and requires Thorne's stem cell donation. Because of Jimmy's statement, her family is planning to cast her out," I explained.
So now I'm the one who has to shield Thorne.
Rex's savior is my savior too, I realized.
The next day, I showed up at Hamilton Group.
When I informed the receptionist that I needed to see Jimmy, she responded, "I apologize. Without an appointment, I'm afraid Mr. Hamilton won't have time for you."
I dropped my eyes, retrieved my phone, and paused before dialing Jimmy's number.
