Evelin's POV
"Would you truly do absolutely anything for your brother?"
Jimmy's question hung in the air, his gaze piercing into mine.
I met his stare directly. "I'd go to any lengths for Rex, but not if it means putting my life at risk or doing something morally wrong. My conscience won't let me cross that line, and Rex would be crushed if he knew."
"Instead, I'll find another solution—maybe persuade the Thor family to reconsider, or convince Thorne to donate her stem cells," I continued.
"What if I demanded you return to me? Would you agree?" Jimmy's voice was barely above a whisper.
The question hit me like a physical blow. I stared at him, mouth opening to respond, when he cut me off sharply.
"Evelin, don't answer—I'm serious. Say nothing, or I'll withdraw my help entirely."
I froze. Something raw and desperate flickered across his typically stoic features. His usually ice-cold eyes now burned with an almost feral intensity. One word from me, and he'd completely unravel.
