Evelin's POV
Allen and I drove straight from the testing center to Jaxson's hotel.
My heart was racing—I couldn't wait another second to see Jaxson and finally tell him the truth. He was the brother I'd been hunting for my entire life.
The DNA results didn't lie, no matter how hard he might try to deny them.
If he was struggling with something, he just needed to open up to me. I'd move heaven and earth to help him through it.
And Rex—God, there was so much I needed to say to him.
We were almost halfway there when Allen's phone buzzed.
The second he picked up, his face went white. He yanked the steering wheel hard and spun us around, tires screeching.
"What happened?" My stomach dropped.
"Thorne's been snatched. Jaxson's heading to the drop point right now with the cash, trying to buy her freedom," Allen said, his knuckles white on the wheel.
"Are you serious?" The words hit me like a punch. "Do you know where they're meeting?"
