Chapter 1 - A Big Bird on the Breeze

-Hey, I'm Angel Cross, yeah, but... honestly, I don't have time to talk right now, okay? Mr. Boss just dumped all of his tasks on me. But hey, we can do this another day, right?"

That's Angel, a guy teased for having a name too soft for his face, and a face too soft to deny it. Right now, he's talking to his own reflection inside a cramped little apartment where he lives alone. No pets, no girlfriend, no friends.

-Alright, alright, enough... Jeez, I'm not only talking to myself, but I'm imagining a narrator…" He sighed. "Whatever. I'll just reheat this pizza and get back to work."

'Real narrator over here. As you can see, Angel is a bit of a crazy lonely worm. But don't make fun of him, please. He's telling the truth, you see, when he was young, everybody used to make fun of him for his feminine features. At school, nobody wanted to talk to him because of his voice. Heartbroken, right? Even the girls made fun of him because he was soooooo skinny. But today, this day, is the moment everything changes in Angel's life.'

-Dude, this deadline is killing me, how does that idiot boss expect us to finish the Abidbas campaign by this Sunday, TODAY IS TUESDAY, he could've told us way earlier. - Said Luis with a beer mug in his hand.

-I know, but what can we do, you know how incompetent the boss is, and as long as that fat ass keeps sitting there like a Buddha statue, this company's going straight down the drain. - Said Sara as she took the mug from Luis and drank it herself.

-That's why I'm already looking for another job, once they pay me, fwoom, I'm out of this damn company. - Stated Emilia.

-*whispering* Hey, that guy came alone again... maybe we should invite him? - Said Sara.

-*whispering* Leave him, he always comes and just stays at the bar, tsk, who does he think he is with those perfect eyelashes, total gay. - Said Emilia.

'A bunch of laughter and shouting kept coming from the table where Angel's coworkers had sat down.'

I can hear you, assholes, it's the same thing every damn day, I come to this stupid bar thinking, "Hey, maybe today I'll feel like talking to someone," but those idiots from work always start yelling nonsense, and today it's about me? what a shitty life, I wish I had a different one...

'A night not many could bear was just another night for Angel... After that experience, all that was left was to go home, he arrived, threw himself onto his bed, and without changing clothes, fell completely asleep.'

-What!?? A dream? But that voice felt so real though... What the hell, anyways.

'Angel looked at the clock only to see that he is already late for work.'

-Shit shit shit, how did I oversleep?, I'm not even feeling rested.- Even with that sense of heaviness Angel went directly to work while eating a green apple that he grabbed quickly from his house.

'Angel ran quickly, accidentally bumping into the people he crossed paths with, I mean someone like him simply couldn't afford to be late. "If someone like me showed up late, it would be another reason to make fun of me" he thought. Maybe it wasn't true, but his mind wouldn't let him test it. While making his way across the city, the alarms began to play, the sound was deafening, but Angel's mind was making so much noise that he only noticed it when a huge shadow blocked the sun. Angel looked up. "A bird?" he thought, but the bird kept getting bigger and—boom—the alarms stopped, the wind ceased, and where Angel had been standing a moment ago, there was now a massive, destroyed airplane.
