"I think we should cut left instead of going straight," Xander said as they ran through the swamps, their heavy duty boots pressing against the squishy soil beneath them.
"Why would we suddenly change course when we have no clear idea where we're going?"
Soresguard huffed.
"We've been going straight for a whole hour now and haven't come in contact with anyone. It wouldn't kill us to change our strategy."
"And what, get lost in the process?" He scoffed.
"That would be reckless and a waste of time."
Xander put on a strained smile as he kept his gaze forward, jumping over another fallen tree. "Your insistence on always playing it safe never ceases to amaze me, Shawn."
"You—" he started to say through gritted teeth but stopped himself. "We're staying the course."
The younger Instructor couldn't help but chuckle. "So bullheaded."
Soresguard ignored the comment, choosing to focus on the path ahead.
