Chapter song: Around Me - Metro Boomin, Don Toliver
Kenneth couldn't help feeling like he was back in the Americas, deployed to a hostile country where he and his unit were once again sent on a mission to retrieve classified materials they had no idea what for.
The feeling of sand beneath his boots, of shrapnel and debris. The scent of gunfire, of diesel and sweat. The humidity and scorching sun breathing down their necks as they strained their bodies, the weight of not just the mission but the tactical vests on their chest and their rifles in their hands.
There was always a rush he felt whenever he was on the field. A rush that was large enough to mask the dread he felt whenever he put his life in the hands of his comrades. He knew and trusted wholeheartedly that they had his back. That he never had to worry about being attacked because there was always someone looking out for him.
