Chapter 1 - Prologue

It was dark, damp, and cold. He hated it because it was always so cold he could feel his lips quivering, and his thighs shaking. His arms cold as ice and, his fingers numb from the cold sensation of concrete walls and iron bars. It wasn't a prison cell; he didn't know where he was at all. There was no light he could not feel nor could he smell it was hell, always cold and unforgiving. He couldn't feel his feet but he felt the sensation of rats nibbling on them as he wore no socks. All his bearings ripped away from his body replaced by a white and gray robe. The walls...They were a bright vibrant color before they were painted white it as the last thing he saw before the lights cut out. There were always men..watching waiting with big guns and heavy protection. Every hallway of this sick and twisted place filled with them their chatter filled the halls. But now it was so...so very quiet it made him scared he didn't move, he didn't speak, he didn't even make a sound. He knew what would happen. Maybe it would alert them that he was still there and they'd catch him again. But he truly had no way of knowing if they were even still there.

Drip

Drop

Drip

Drop

The only sound he could truly hear was the sound of water as it filled his ears that sound of something dropping and dripping constantly. At this point he was no longer sure that it was even water. But what could it be if not water? He thought this many times before, maybe it was someone's waste? maybe it was a spilled drink it could truly be any liquid that's what he thought anyways. He had nothing better to do but think his mind growing creative over the time debating words he's heard before what he thinks they mean. It was exhilarating how much he could think he had no limit to his mind. His intellect with math had grown over practicing equations in his mind; the books he used to read provided much insight.

However he Knew better his mind was to keep him from being scared he knew what was happening. The dripping sounds were not water he knew fully well; it was the dripping sound of blood of multiple bodies dripping blood everywhere. He tried not to think of it to make it seem like water or pee or maybe even drinks. But the metallic scent of copper stung the air so heavily he could taste it even in his weak state and almost all his senses were stripped away he could not feel nor taste nor smell. Yet the scent was so strong he could smell and taste it. It was so heavily polluting the air it found its way into his nostrils and his mouth. His throat tightened slightly each breath tasting the metallic unforgettable scent of thick heavy blood.

He knew why the lights were out because no one was there or left alive to turn them on; it was just him. All the other children...their bodies probably hung on the ceiling dripping blood and if he wasn't careful he'd be next. He knew not to move, not to breathe loudly, none of it no sign he was alive. Because he could feel its breath on his face he could just feel it waiting. He knew if he opened his eyes he would inevitably see it in front of him he knew exactly what would happen. It would smile that same creepy smile it wore while killing the others before it killed him too. He would become another lifeless body hanging from the ceiling dripping blood. He was so sure no one was alive but he didn't know for sure that's why it surprised him so much.

To hear footsteps. The thing froze in front of him before slowly getting up. It was quickly met with multiple men. He could hear their footsteps each easily weighed over 150 pounds. He could tell they were heavily armed and they open fired on the creature. Its screams almost tore a gasp from his throat yet he was too dehydrated to even speak. They caught and caged the violent thing that had massacred everyone in the facility. However he felt no pity for the others. For the scientist and armed guards. He was sure they caught the thing they were able to leave. He couldn't just be alone he would have hated it so badly. His foot moved..slow almost like it had been asleep for so very long. The guards caught it. He finally opened his eyes to bright flashlights. They were surprised to see the child alive they pick him up and he was finally free. From the terror..The pain..from being scared of dying at the hands of that...thing.

He believed it was finally over 4 long years since he was last playing with his mother when a stranger offered candy he hadn't known was dangerous. He was brought here where they illegally experimented on children. He was subject to so many poison shots of many different substances each worse than the last. He thought he'd never survive. He really did think he could go back. That maybe it was all over..and for a while it really was.
