Chapter 9 - "The Wrong Informer"

After a few miss calls, Amerio responded back. Cleyn was heading towards the outskirts of the Heronica City.

"Hey, where are you?" Cleyn said, with a thrilling voice.

"I was busy in a wedding with the wifey." Amerio said with a friendly voice.

"Oh sorry for disturbing you at the moment but can you meet us at the Barn Base at 9pm?" Cleyn said, still walking around in the process.

"Sure thing big brother, Blayne joining us?" Amerio said, brushing his hair.

"I am sure he will." Cleyn said, looking around.

"Alright homie, I am in. Talk to you then." Amerio said, scratching his leg.

"Thanks pal. OAO." Cleyn responded quickly.

"OAO." Amerio said, putting his phone down.

Cleyn saw that the world around him has woken up. The same bright eyes, smiling faces, chirping of the birds, the usual noises of people in the back. The bright sun rays hit his face often indicating a message. He quickly looked for a vehicle to go out towards his next destination.

He twisted his fingers again. He was angry at noticing all the events so late. He wished someone told him earlier about the mistake he was heading into.

"Want to grab some munchies?" A familiar voice came from the back.

Cleyn looked around and saw some fimilar faces. The Masked Ninja, Akira Antassio Antonito & The strong bodybuilder, The Great Khyn.

"Where you heading Cleyn?" Khyn responded, sipping his drink in the process.

"My question is not answered yet." Akira said, with a creepy grin.

"Hmm....I have a task to complete. I will join you guys later." Cleyn said with a smile, shaking hands & hugging both of them.

"Can I join you?" Akira responded with the same grin.

"Me too. If you don't mind." Khyn said, scratching his nose.

"It's a mission basically. I will catch you guys later and join you for the party tomorrow. I am really sorry I am in a hurry." Cleyn responded, in the same breath.

"Alright homie. See you later big guy." Khyn said, shaking his hand again.

Akira didn't say any word but kept smiling behind the mask.

Cleyn waved his hand aswell and moved off, trying to sprint.

In a flash of few seconds, Cleyn disappeared from their eyes.

"I feel like he is the bright knight." Khyn said, sipping his drink.

"Nah, I feel like he found new friends or perhaps a new girlfriend. This mission is all a complete excuse." Akira said, the grin started to disappear.

"He ain't a crackhead like you, little bro. He robs injustice not people." Khyn said, taking the last sips from the drink.

"How come people are still getting murdered while he is around so?" Akira said, in a questioning tone, the grin started to appear but with a downward smile.

"He can't do all the work alone. What do u even contribute except scratching your balls the whole day?" Khyn said, raising his eye brows.

Akira opened his mouth but not completely, his nose rose at a tilted angle and his eyes widened often showing an expression that he was offended.

"I can do better if offered the leadership of the organization." Akira said with an annoyed tone.

"It ain't like one of your poor third class robbery. Sit back and find a suitable job for yourself, you lazy crack." Khyn said, offering a handshake.

"Alright big muscle, with a big nose." Akira said with a happy face, not putting his hand forward for the handshake.

"Take care buddie. See you tomorrow." Khyn said, waving off.

"Yeah whatever, bye." Akira said and went off aswell.

The whole of Heronica belonged to a whole lot of elite people who decided to donate this land for the industrial and other purposes such as wrestling, bars, offices and other infrastructure. It was not a rich city but it was affordable and cheap enough for many families to live a life at. On the contrary part, there was Hermonica, which was completely built upon by evil and corrupt entities. They had no empathy for the poor and the needy.

Cleyn looked closely around the area from where all this case started. The same WolfS5 street, the same restricted area where the mysterious murder occured. He looked around the area with no human in sight, the sky has become still offering a mild whispering wind. He sat on one knee and started to look for the spider symbol. He started to remember every incident that occured to him in the last day.

For almost 30 mins, he scanned the complete area. He was also remembering what each specific event around was signalling him.

[The mysterio murder with the Spidler coin,The Old Harnn Lab which was distorted, the fake ambulance service and the takeaway of the corpse of Bronz, the hospital where all the record was missing, the sudden disappearance of the Dr and the attack on Goldour]

When he was thinking all this in the back of his mind, his phone started to vibrate. He picked up the phone and saw that it was Blayne. Cleyn took a sigh and was happy to see that name appear on his phone at last.

"Hey, you called? Sorry I was busy somewhere." Blayne muttered when Cleyn answered the call.

"Uhm Uhm...on a morning date?" Cleyn responded with a smile.

"Nah bro I was busy on your date. Actually its a long story bro." Blayne said, his tone sounding a bit professional.

"Oh, are u okay? And can you summarize it all on the meeting we will have at 9am?" Cleyn said with the same tone.

He read the room clearly.

"Sure, I will be there but a bit late. I got works to complete." Blayne said, this time in a friendly tone.

"Gift her a wedding ring too someday." Cleyn said in a sarcastic tone.

"You nasty mf, I am on a task. I will do that at the right time." Blayne responded with a laugh.

"Should I join you? I am heading towards the house of Goldour next and by the way I was searching for the Spidler coin at the crime site." Cleyn said with a whisper.

"I guess I will join you myself at the Cafe [Peace Peach Front] soon. And about the Goldour case, you don't to go there. The place is completely empty with no trace of that gentleman but the fishy part is that there was no phone or any electrical device found there." Blayne said, in a fast pace.

"That sounds fishy too but I saw this coming when I was with him on the call. I feel like I lost a good soldier." Cleyn said, often with a sad tone.

"I am afraid you are wrong here. I found a bit of evidence often ignored by the attacker. I also have a gut feeling that Goldour is involved in all this." Blayne said with a confident voice.

"What? That sounds unbelieveable. Aight buddy, give me the updates at the Cafe then, I will be there soon." Cleyn said, twisting his neck.

"Okay sir, OAO." Blayne said.

"OAO." Cleyn said and the call got cut.

Cleyn now started to walk off from the crime site, he looked closely at the tree where Goldour mentioned that the coin was laying. He looked closely at one of the branches and took off his pocket knife, trying to scratch it a bit. He jumped and grabbed the branch. It was a weak branch and eventually came off. He climbed a bit ahead and did the same with the above branch.

In a matter of five minutes, he undressed the whole tree of its branches. He then gathered all the branches and sat on the nearby bench. The cold breeze of air has started to hit directly on his cubic face. The temperature was started to drop. He could feel the goosebumps hitting him. He continue to scratch the branches and looked with his eyes partially closed.

He finally found a trace.

"Now what does this mean?" Cleyn muttered to himself.

"Maybe I should just take all of these with me to the cafe." Cleyn continued, picking up the branches. Before putting them in his bag, he further crushed them into smaller logs.

Cleyn checked his watch and he almost had five minutes remaining to meet Blayne. He carried the branches and started to walk faster towards the cafe. While going off, he looked around with his side eye and saw a mysterious man, all covered in black clothing.

He became suspecious and stopped midway. He and the mysterious man stared each other in the eyes. Before he could make a move, Cleyn saw that a bus stood before him and he disappeared eventually.

He was shocked that the vehicle had no number plate but just a logo of a scorpion killed in half with two knives.

He stared and immediately questioned to who was spying on him because he was sure that it wasn't a local person. The weather might allow that clothing but not the government.

While lost in thoughts, a hand hit Cleyn on his back.
