Chapter 14 - "Answers in the Dark Streets"

At 3:45 am, all of them entered the first area which was plugged it into the Fracto-GPS. Cleyn and Blayne reached first into the Peace Peach Front Cafe. Amerio took him time behind to attend a phone call from his island.

"Do you want me to go inside alone or you want to join me?" Blayne asked in a slow tone.

"I guess you should scan the cafe alone. I might look for something else around." Cleyn said in a comforting voice.

"Are you sure you want to do this alone? We can go together." Blayne responded in a friendly tone.

"Thank you so much. I would be fine. You go ahead." Cleyn said, patting Blayne on his shoulder.

"Sure thing bud." Blayne said with a smile closing the car.

Both of them left the car. Blayne entered the cafe while Cleyn stood there with the car. Cleyn started to progress in a way towards the streets, swallowed by shadows & darkness.

In a short time, Amerio also came with his car and joined Blayne inside.

"Are you still the owner?" Blayne said in a friendly voice.

"Nah, I was fired after what....nevermind. The new owner would....join soon" The ex owner said with a slight pause in between.

"I can give you a solution to that. Want to join me for a small talk in your office?" Blayne said with a smile, shaking the hand of the old owner.

"What's with the deal? Sir, I am too stressed. I can't bear anymore stress." The ex owner of the cafe responded with sigh.

"Join me in your office. I promise I won't disappoint." Blayne said, putting a hand on the owner and taking him into the office.

At this exact moment, Amerio took entry into the cafe. As he didn't saw Cleyn or Blayne, he knew something was cooking. He just stood there and decided to order a coffee and observe his surroundings.

"I would like to have a cold coffee." Amerio said with a smile towards the waiter.

"Sure sir. Your order would be ready in five minutes." The waiter responded with a smile.

"Thank you so much." Amerio said with a smile aswell.

He started looking around the cafe. The cafe was completely empty at this hour but had quite a few people in there. He even saw his close friend Akira Antonito seated there having a phone call on the corner table. To his surprise, he also an old man seated there. He felt suspicious and started looking at him from time to time.

On the other side, there was a silent gossip going on inside the office of the cafe. Blayne and the ex owner were seated face to face with arms crossed for a table talk.

"So do you agree with my offer?" Blayne said, getting up slowly.

"I am completely agreed sir. Your task will be completed till tomorrow." The ex owner responded, offering a handshake.

"Thank you my guy & sorry for my rude behaviour yesterday." Blayne said, moving his hand forward aswell.

"Happens to the best of us, Mr Blayne." The ex owner responded with a steady smile.

"Wishing you all the best ahead." Blayne said with a smile, leaving the office.

"U too buddy." The ex owner said remaining seated.

When Blayne left the office, he was happy to see Amerio there sipping his coffee. He looked at the same direction where he was looking and to his surprise, he recognized the old man. That was indeed none other than Dr Xander.

"Hey bro. Sup?" Blayne said, putting his arm on Amerio's shoulder.

"All well. Where were you and Cleyn?" Amerio responded shaking Blayne's hand.

"I had business to take care off. Cleyn I got no idea he said he wanted to be somewhere else." Blayne responded, sitting next to Amerio.

"I hope so he would be fine." Amerio said, sitting looking at the old man.

"Looks like we got a friendly face here and don't worry about Cleyn he would be fine." Blayne said with a smile.

"Indeed. I am thinking the same." Amerio responded, taking a sip from his cold coffee.

Whereas, Cleyn started to look for a specific place which confused him from a long time.

[921 BRH STA 698 734 PUQ LUY 540]

He started moving across streets to look around for the area. He looked to his left and rights whenever he was entering every street, but couldn't find anything except the silent streets and utter darkness.

The silent cold breezes waved him across the body making him shiver a bit. The coldness and that silence felt unsettling to Cleyn but he was used to it.

 [921 698 734 540] [BRH STA PUQ LUY]

Cleyn was continously looking for a pattern whether to put it in alphabetical order in order to trace a clue. He also thought of putting the numbers in either ascending or descending order to get his answers in the back of his mind.

Cleyn looked closely at the street sign and found 921. It was scratched a bit. Halfway through the street, he stopped to see something unfortunate.

Both sides of the plot were completely empty with just scanty plantation while the the rest of the street was filled with houses. There was a single tree guarding the plots.

He looked more precisely and found a shovel placed at a tilted angle.

Cleyn went ahead towards the shovel. He felt that the area was dug freshly. Without any second thoughts, he started digging the same ground.

In a short interval, there was a local police car patrolling the area.

Cleyn decided to stay hidden behind the old tree that was giving a shade well enough for him to escape easily. When the police car left the area, Cleyn came out and started digging again.

In just a short time, Cleyn dug quite a good part of the land but he felt tired. He had no water or food to get refreshment.

He looked at his watch.

It was around 4:20 am. Cleyn decided to mark the area which he dug with a bit of marking for him to easily identify.

He climbed the old tree and cut a few branches.

He then placed them into the dug area to recheck it in the morning. He had no idea someone was watching him from the roof of a nearby house.

[921 BRH] Check.

Now. [STA 698]

Cleyn started going towards the street 698 but he couldn't find it. He thought it was at the same location but he couldn't find it. He thought that it might be the number of a house.

He started searching closely for this specific number. After moving through multiple streets, he finely stopped at the end of a street. He looked with eyes half closed and saw that he found the house he was searching for.

[698 Starla Talrot A.]

"Bingo" Cleyn muttered with a cold sigh.

He decided not to knock on the door at this very hour. He decided to make a mark with the rock that he had picked from the 921 street. He wrote '01' on the floor beside the house.

Soon afterwards, Cleyn placed his attention towards:

[734 PUQ] [LUY 540]

With the help of secret spy forces and Alteor, he found that the 734 was a number plate for a car in the nearby area belonging to a hotel 'Pearl Unique Quotz'. The last one 540 was a lottery ticket belonging to a guy named 'Luis UonYanky.'

Cleyn returned towards the cafe and it was almost 5am on the clock.

Before Cleyn got there, Blayne and Amerio sat there for a while. They both deeply observed the old man before he left. They decided not to follow him.

They knew it would be a dumb move. They did a deep research on every staff member as well. Soon, Amerio waved Blayne goodbye and left a 'see you soon' message for Cleyn. Cleyn has responded him when he was heading back.

Blayne drank a coffee and sat there in his car. The dawn has started to come up and the darkness Cleyn went through started to vanish slowly.

Cleyn knocked at the door of Blayne's car only to find him asleep. He knocked again and Blayne immediately got up and unlocked the car.

"You took so long man. Were you asleep or what?" Blayne said, rubbing his eyes.

"I am sorry. Had some business to handle." Cleyn said, sitting on the front seat.

"I see. Lonely roads." Blayne said with a vague smile, still sleepy.

"Chill mf. I was not doing ur kinks." Cleyn responded sarcastically.

"What's the update buddy?" Blayne asked sitting correctly.

"I found the second clue as well. Might find it after solving this case." Cleyn said, stretching his arms.

"Got it." Blayne said, starting his car.

"You might head to your home and take sleep." Cleyn recommended.

"Yeah man. Going to do the exact thing. What about you?" Blayne said with a yawn.

"I got things to handle buddy. I will sleep some other day." Cleyn said twisting his head.

"Other day? Chill man. Do rest." Blayne said, speeding the car towards Cleyn's house.

"I will be fine. You take sleep buddy. I got to attend a party aswell tonight." Cleyn said, picking up his bag.

"You about to get more chicks or it's an important function." Blayne said with a smile, turning the indicator toward the street where Cleyn used to live.

"It is a normal party but with a deep agenda." Cleyn said with a wink.

"Got you. Chick magnet." Blayne said, stopping the car at a tilted angle.

"Stfu buddy." Cleyn said with a laugh.

Both shoke hands and Cleyn got off the car.

"Hit me up if you need help at the party." Blayne said with a half smile and wink.

"I really want to tell your girl all this." Cleyn said with a sarcastic smile.

"I am just kidding buddy." Blayne said with a smile and moving away in high speed.

Cleyn decided to take the day off & enjoy himself a bit but he had no idea what was approaching him the next hour.
