~Stella's POV
The room felt too small. Too silent. Too heavy.
Lira lay unconscious on the hospital bed, pale, still, bandaged. Machines beeped softly beside her. Alpha Rowan and Luna Elena stood at her bedside like statues, their eyes unmoving, their faces impossible to read. I stood a few steps behind them, my hands shaking so badly I had to grip the edge of the chair just to stay on my feet.
They knew. The tests… the blood results… everything was out now.
And I could feel the world I built, the lies I layered, the secrets I buried, breaking apart.
Alpha Rowan turned slowly, his voice low, confused, and angry all at once. "It makes no sense…" he whispered. "How can her blood not match mine? Not match Elena's?"
Luna Elena placed a hand on his arm. "Maybe they made a mistake. They must have."
But they both looked at me.
As if something inside them already suspected.
As if the truth was already clawing its way to the surface.
