Finn couldn't believe what he was seeing right now. Sun Wukong? The real Sun Wukong?
Looking the god up and down, Finn wearily and slowly took a step back. The Monkey King noticed this and smirked.
"Jeez, no need to be so scared, I don't bite."
Finn's face fell flat. "You are a literal god, I think there is a good reason to be a little afraid."
A toothy grin spread across Wukong's face. "Well, if it aids your aching heart, I am here to do some charity work."
In the blink of an eye, he disappeared and reappeared in front of Finn. A palm was already planted firmly on his chest.
Finn had no time to react. Look down at the palm that rested on his chest, Finn gulped. Small ripples bloomed from the hand. The ripples then flowed throughout his whole body.
Almost instantly flashes, memories and instincts appeared in his mind and then just as quickly vanished. He stumbled a bit backwards, but quickly caught himself.
"What did you do?" His words came out ragged, he sounded like he did a marathon.
Sun Wukong smirked, "I removed something that shouldn't be there."
Finn raised an eyebrow, and then sighed. "Jeez, a little more info would be appreciated."
The god rolled his eyes, "Just check your status."
[Finn Aeir]
[Human: M-T0]
[Origin ability: K??????]
[Stamina: 90/90]
[Mana: 80/80]
[Stats:
-Strength: 10
-Agility: 11
-Endurance: 9
-Intelligence: 8 ]
Finn's eyes stretched wide. Two things had changed, his Origin Ability had mostly stayed the same, only getting a 'K' in the place of the first question mark.
'So the question marks are spelling something out?'
The next big change was the 'M' next to his race. He was now firmly in the middle of tier 0.
"I'm guessing you did something with my Origin Ability?" Finn asked.
"Bingo! You got it right!"
Getting into a more comfortable position, Sun Wukong explained further. "Someone had locked access to your Origin Ability, which in turn made you unable to use your mana."
The god scratched his head, "The problem is that not just anyone can do that. As it stands, a god had locked you Origin Ability for some reason." He looked Finn up and down. "And for some, probably a good one. Your Origin Ability must be something great for it to bump you to the middle of your tier."
Finn stared at the god and then at his Status again. "You said you unlocked my Origin Ability, but it still shows up as question marks. The only thing that changed was letter being revealed."
This made Sun Wukong curious. "Huh, interesting." Thinking for a moment he came up with an answer. "I definitely unlocked the seal, the only explanation I can think of is that it's too strong for the current you."
Finn wanted to ask more questions, but his "heart" started rumbling and shaking. Both Finn and Sun Wukong looked at their surroundings. Sun Wukong looked back at Finn and once again appeared beside him.
Tapping his middle and pointing finger on Finn's chest right over his heart, the Monkey King showed him a mischievous smile. "Looks like our time here is up. I think you will be able to use your Origin Ability to some degree, so you will probably survive."
Finn tried to speak, was unable to, his body was fading away.
"Oh! Just a heads up, you have a visitor."
And with that everything went black, well as black as it could get in the void.
*****
Finn groggily woke up and his eyes fluttered open. Though the next second his adrenaline spiked. Towering over him stood another mantis, this one bigger than the last one, and it was looking straight at him.
Seeing that Finn moved, it's forelimbs blurred toward Finn. 'Shit! Not again!'
Rolling out of the way and surviving with a hair's width, he quickly scanned his surroundings. There was nothing he could use as a weapon and he couldn't run away like last time.
Breaking Finn from his train of thought, the mantis quickly swiped towards him again. Finn lifted his arms to block as the scythes flew toward him. They collided with his forearms cutting deep grooves into his skin, causing his mind to go white from the pain.
The impact lifted Finn off his feet and he flew into a tree, causing him to throw up blood. The mantis gave him no break as it sprinted towards him.
"Just great, going from one near death experience to the next." Finn coughed up. Looking at the mantis coming toward him, Finn's mind rushed for any type of solution for his predicament.
But that didn't last long as the mantis was already upon him, its forelimbs going for his head. Staring death in the eye, Finn's body moved on its own. His right arm blurred, swiping from his left to his right. For a moment nothing happened, it seemed as if the world grew still.
And in the next, the upper body of the mantis slid smoothly off of the lower half, landing with a thud on the ground next to the still standing lower half.
Finn stared in shock at the scene before him, he couldn't believe what he was seeing. Bringing his hand to his face, he inspected it.
Nothing looked out of the ordinary, his hand looked like an ordinary hand, and there were no wounds on it.
A notifictation took his attention next. It simply read:
[Mid-Tier 0 [Reaper Mantis] felled. +7 Agility, +4 Strength, +2 Endurance.]
Another notification followed.
[Item gained (Verdant Blade)]
And that was all the notifications. Finn shook his head as he went to open his status, but before he could open it his world spun and in the next moment he passed out cold, he had passed out because of mana exhaustion.
That one attack had taken all his mana.

High above in the clouds, the Monkey King, smirked and shook his head.
"I hope this doesn't become a regular thing."
