Chapter 1 - she shoots him

The weather didn't feel right today; the thunder shook all of Mumbai.

Rain began to lash down heavily, and the sky ripped with screaming lightning as if something terrible was about to happen.

On a high hill two people stood pointing guns at each other. One of them was Avira her hands were trembling, her eyes so full of tears they could spill at any moment. Her fingers were fixed on the trigger. She whispered to herself, "Before the truth reaches you, I have to kill you…"

Adhvir's eyes were wet with tears and anger, yet there was an icy glare in them. In a heavy voice he said, "I have been punished with loving you to pieces. A strange hatred has grown… so much that now I can kill you in peace. What you did is unforgivable."

A bitter, trembling smile appeared on Avira's lips as she replied, "I don't want your forgiveness. I know what kind of man you are. I will regret all my life that I loved someone like you. And for what I did… I have no remorse. You can kill me… but do you have that courage?"

Her smile had become a sword cutting through the storm. Hearing this, Adhvir's blood boiled; the vein in his jaw tightened. One hand balled into a fist, the other gripped his gun harder. He stepped forward and his voice thundered like a rolling cloud, "Good that I finally know your real face. How many chances I gave you, how many times I tried to make you understand… but you never listened. Now you will be punished by my hands!" He roared, "Do you know something? I'm happy today… because I will kill you with my own hands!"

Before Avira could speak, a sudden loud noise rang out Adhvir's phone was vibrating nonstop. Irritated, he picked up the call. From the other end came a laughing voice, "Congratulations, Adhvir…" Hearing that, Adhvir was about to hang up when the caller continued, "Avira is pregnant! To be honest, I'm jealous of Avira… because her husband loves her too much. She doesn't even know she's pregnant, but you knew because you quietly arranged all her medical checkups every week. Every report, every medicine, every doctor appointment passes through your hands first. I wish I had a husband who cared like that… but now you'll have to take extra care of her."

It was as if thousands of daggers pierced Adhvir when he heard that.

For a moment he forgot the rain, the storm, and the gun in Avira's hand.

His chest felt heavy, his breaths shattered, and tears swam in his eyes a mix of rage and the weight of a love he could no longer hide.

Memories spun in his mind: the nights he kept Avira's sleep undisturbed, the times he watched her silently… the happy moments they shared, their little sweet fights, every difficulty they'd faced together, the night they'd become one.

Tears streamed from Adhvir's eyes with the rain. His voice broke in a tremor, "Avira… I loved you beyond limits… you were my life. And you… you gave me pain."

His voice softened, trembling but sharp, "Avira, I loved you more than myself… and you turned my love into my punishment." Outside the storm roared, but the silence between them was far heavier.

Hearing him, Avira froze. She thought the caller had revealed the whole truth. Her heart began to shake violently. She knew that if Adhvir learned the real truth… none of them would walk away alive. Fear clawed at her chest, every thought constricting.

In that silent storm, Avira whispered inwardly, "I'm sorry…" Her finger pressed the trigger.

A deafening sound rang out.

The shot made Adhvir stagger. Tears were still in his eyes; his blood mixed with the rain and soaked the ground. His body rolled backward and in the next moment he fell into the dark ravine.

After he fell, Avira ran to where Adhvir had landed. She sank to her knees and sobbed uncontrollably, the gun still in her hand. "F-forgive me… Adhvir please I'm sorry… I loved you too much but I had to do this… I'm sorry…"
