Webster's response didn't surprise me in the slightest. I'd predicted his exact reaction before he'd even opened his mouth.
My calm, mocking stare caught Bryce off guard, freezing him momentarily. He quickly grabbed the phone. "Mr. Webster Noah, we have your sister. Transfer two million to the account she mentioned within a short time if you want her alive."
Webster let out a harsh laugh. "Sallie, you seriously think I'd buy into whatever scam artist you dug up? I'm not the fool you apparently take me for.
"Claiming you've been snatched? Sure. Send me video proof right away. Can't manage that? Then quit these pathetic games for my attention." The call ended with Webster slamming down his phone, leaving Bryce speechless.
I watched Bryce process what he'd just heard. The Noah family's coldness toward me was well-known, but I'd been their precious daughter for many years. Most people would show more concern for a missing pet.
