Sallie's POV
The kidnapper looked uncertain about what to do with me. He tossed his phone aside and walked off to huddle with the others. Whatever they whispered about stayed between them, and only Leonardo remained behind while the rest disappeared from the warehouse.
Leonardo planted himself beside a rusted barrel, lazily swiping through his phone. Every few seconds, he'd lift his eyes to check that I wasn't planning anything foolish.
I could see these men had experience.
They all wore matching masks to conceal their identities, watched me constantly, and even the ropes around my wrists were knotted with expert skill.
Luckily, I knew exactly how to handle this situation. Andy Howard had trained me well, though he wasn't here to help me now.
Each time Leonardo looked down at his screen, I carefully shifted my wrists. My movements were so subtle and silent that I'd already worked the rope loose without him catching on.
Now I just had to wait for the perfect opportunity.
