The city of Seoul slept under a blanket of snow, but Jisoo couldn't. Her apartment felt colder than the winter night outside, haunted by memories she couldn't escape.
Three years. That's how long it had been since her brother, Seojun, vanished without a trace. Every alley, every shadow seemed to whisper his name — and now, it felt like the darkness was closing in again.
A sudden knock at the door made her jump. Her heart raced. Who could it be?
Before she could think, the door creaked open.
"Jisoo."
The voice was low, familiar, and it made her blood run cold.
She froze. Slowly, she turned — and there he was. Jungkook, standing in the doorway, drenched from the falling snow, eyes dark and unreadable.
"Jungkook…" she breathed, disbelief and anger tangled together. "Why now? After all this time?"
He stepped inside without answering. Instead, he dropped a small envelope on the table. Her name was written in familiar, sharp handwriting.
"I need to show you something," he said finally, his voice barely above a whisper.
Hands trembling, Jisoo picked up the envelope. Inside were photos of her brother — alive, but in places she didn't recognize. The images were clear, undeniable.
Her chest tightened. "Where… where did you find these?"
Jungkook's eyes met hers, stormy and intense. "They're tracking him. And they're coming for you next."
Jisoo felt the floor tilt beneath her. "Who? What are you talking about?"
He took a step closer, voice dropping to a serious whisper. "There's no time. You need to trust me. If we stay here, we're already dead."
Her mind screamed to run, to hide, to deny it all. But the envelope burned in her hands — a reminder that the past wasn't done with her, and the shadows of Seoul had only just begun to move.
She looked up at Jungkook, and for the first time in years, she saw the truth in his eyes: he wasn't the same boy she once knew, and neither was the world outside.
"We leave tonight," he said, and the determination in his tone left no room for argument.
Jisoo nodded, heart pounding. "Together?"
"Together."
And with that, they stepped out into the snow-covered streets, unaware that every move they made was being watched, and that the dark game had only just begun.
