Chapter 2 - Beneath the winter lights

Part 2______❄️

The streets of Seoul were silent, the snow muffling every sound except the crunch of their footsteps. Jisoo's heart raced as she followed Jungkook through the dimly lit alleyways. Every shadow seemed to move, every flicker of light hiding unseen eyes.

"Where are we going?" she whispered, trying to steady her breathing.

"To a safe place," Jungkook replied, voice low and urgent. "No one will find us there… at least for now."

Jisoo's hands shook as she clutched the envelope with her brother Seojun's photos. Alive. But trapped. Every photo screamed danger, every image whispered fear.

"Why now?" she asked, voice barely audible. "Why tell me now?"

He hesitated. "Because I finally know you can handle the truth. And because time is running out."

Fear twisted in her chest, but beneath it, a spark of trust flickered. She had loved him once… could she trust him again?

As they turned a corner, a shadow moved swiftly behind them. Jisoo froze. Jungkook's hand shot out, gripping her arm. "Don't move," he warned, eyes scanning the darkness.

The figure passed without notice. A henchman. One of many. They were being followed. Every step now carried danger.

Jisoo's mind raced. "Who are they? Why is my brother important to them?"

Jungkook's jaw tightened. "They're part of something bigger. Something dangerous. And Seojun… he stumbled into it."

A cold wind swept through the alley, carrying with it whispers of secrets and threats. Jisoo shivered. "And us?"

He looked at her, dark eyes softening for a brief moment. "We survive. Together."

For the first time in years, Jisoo believed him. But the snow around them seemed to thicken, the city darker than ever, and she knew — this was only the beginning.
