That night, Lian sat by her window, staring out at the rain-soaked street. She couldn't get the image of him out of her mind—the arrogant man who apologized with his eyes before leaving, without saying a word. But what worried her more was the name she'd heard from one of her classmates after the incident: "Rayan Al-Asi?! Why didn't you say from the beginning that he was from the Al-Asi family?" Her features froze. The name alone was enough to awaken all of her father's warnings: "Don't you dare get close to anyone from the Al-Asi family, Lian… even if they pass by, change your route." She didn't know the real reason behind this old enmity, she only knew that something dark had happened before she was born, and that a deep wound was still open between the two families. On the other side of town, Rayan was sitting in his car, remembering her calm face and firm voice. He smiled sarcastically and said to himself: "The daughter of Al-Hashemi… strange, but there's something indescribable about her eyes."
