Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Child Without An Ability

In a world where every person was born with one unique ability, there existed a young man named Keith Smith. Life had not been kind to him — he lost his parents at a young age. Yet from that tragedy, a fire was born within him. Unlike others, Keith came into the world with two abilities — Super Strength and Steel. His mastery over the sword was unmatched; when his blade moved, it was fast, sharp, and precise — as if guided by instinct itself.

Haunted by the memory of what his parents endured, Keith devoted his life to justice. Through years of discipline and battle, he rose to become the Number One Hero, not just in Japan, but in the entire world. His deeds were sung by many, and his name gave hope

Years later, fate smiled upon him once more. He married Ellen Cruz, the daughter of the Cruz Family — a powerful noble lineage known throughout the lands as the Ice Royals, famous for their ice-based abilities and legendary warriors. Together, they forged a family destined for greatness.

Keith and Ellen had six children — four boys and two girls.

The eldest was Michael Smith, often called Mike. He inherited his mother's Ice Ability and his father's Steel, becoming a prodigy who mirrored both sides of his lineage. The second child, Michelle Smith, affectionately called Mitch, was born with the Wind Ability, a free spirit who could command the skies. The third was Ronney Smith, a quiet boy gifted with the Assassin Ability, moving like a shadow unseen. The fourth, Ray Smith, came into the world with no visible power. At the age of two, he had yet to manifest any ability — a rarity that unsettled the entire family. The fifth child, Elsa Smith, possessed the Stealth Ability, capable of blending into her surroundings effortlessly. And the youngest, Rohit Smith, was born with the Copy Ability — the power to scan and replicate other abilities, though only one at a time.

Despite the joy of his growing family, Keith's heart remained heavy. He could not understand why Ray, his fourth child, showed no signs of power.

"It's unheard of," Keith muttered one evening, his brows furrowed as he watched Ray sleep in Ellen's arms."Every person is born with one ability. Why… why is he different?"

Ellen placed a gentle hand on his shoulder.

"Maybe his time just hasn't come yet," she said softly, her voice calm yet uncertain.

But fate had its own plans.

One day, an old friend of Keith's — a man with the rare ability to see into the future — came to visit. His expression was grave as he approached the hero.

"Keith," the seer said, "I've had a vision about your son… Ray."

Keith's eyes widened.

"What did you see?"

The man hesitated, as if the words themselves carried weight.

"Your son is the Key."

"The Key?" Keith repeated, confusion flashing across his face.

"Yes," the seer nodded. "He is unlike anyone else. He can use all abilities… every single one known to mankind. But that is not all I saw. There is darkness chasing him — powerful people who will stop at nothing to find him. You must protect him, Keith. Tell no one."

And with that, the man left, his warning echoing in Keith's mind like a bell that would not stop ringing.

Keith wasted no time. That night, he gathered Ellen and his most trusted disciple, Sir Shiro Jones, a man loyal beyond measure and strong enough to stand beside him in battle.

"Shiro," Keith said firmly, "if danger ever comes for us, if they come for Ray… you must run. Take him far away and never look back."

Sir Shiro bowed deeply.

"Understood, Master."

But destiny rarely gives time to prepare.

As they spoke, Keith suddenly sensed something — an ominous presence approaching their home. His instincts screamed danger.

"They're here," he whispered.

The air turned heavy. Outside the Smith estate, the sky darkened as figures emerged from the shadows — villains, drawn by the faint whisper of the prophecy.

Without hesitation, Keith, Ellen, their children Mike and Mitch, and a handful of loyal disciples leapt into battle. The ground trembled as powers clashed — ice and steel meeting fire and darkness in a storm of chaos.

Sir Shiro, realizing what was happening, acted swiftly. He took his young daughter Nikki Jones, who wielded the Vine Ability, and scooped up little Ray into his arms.

"Hold tight," Shiro said to Nikki. "We must leave — now!"

They fled through the hidden passageways beneath the Smith estate, disappearing into the forest as the sounds of battle roared behind them.

Back on the battlefield, the villains unleashed their might. Yet, even though they were elite fighters, they fell like flies before the wrath of Keith Smith. His steel flashed like lightning, his strength shaking the earth.

Among the invaders was a sensor — a man whose ability allowed him to detect special energies, including "The Key." But when he searched, he found nothing.

"He's not here!" the sensor shouted in frustration."Then it's useless," another replied. "Withdraw!"

Realizing their mission had failed — and that their numbers were dwindling — the villains retreated into the night.

Keith stood amidst the wreckage, his sword gleaming faintly under the moonlight. Though victorious, his heart was torn.

Mitch, bruised and exhausted, stumbled through the debris, calling out.

"Ray! Where's Ray?!"

Her cries echoed in the silent night. Ray had always been the one she played with — her closest companion before Elsa and Rohit were born. But now… he was gone.

Keith turned to his family and disciples, his voice heavy.

"Ray… was taken. He's gone."

He lied — not out of malice, but out of necessity. The fewer who knew the truth, the safer Ray would be. From that day forward, the world believed Ray Smith had died. His existence was erased to protect him.

As years passed, the pain dulled, but it never vanished. Mitch still carried a quiet hope that one day, she'd see her little brother again.

Meanwhile, far away from the chaos, Sir Shiro Jones began a new life. He raised Ray as his own son, changing his name to Ryan Jones.

"From this day forward," Shiro said as they looked out at the sunrise, "you are Ryan Jones. The past is gone — but your destiny is only beginning."

Ray — now Ryan — grew under Shiro's care, enduring intense and insane training designed to help him control the vast power within him. His first lessons began with healing magic, for Shiro knew the battles ahead would demand both strength and compassion.

Meanwhile, back in the Cruz household, time continued its march. Rin Cruz, Ellen's older brother, welcomed a son — Jason Cruz. When priests examined the newborn, their eyes widened.

"This child's Ice Ability… it surpasses even the strongest of the Cruz bloodline," one priest murmured.

And so, two destinies began to unfold — Ryan Jones, the hidden Key of all abilities, and Jason Cruz, the heir to the Ice Royals.

The world did not yet know it, but their paths were bound — by blood, by prophecy, and by the coming storm of darkness.
