Chapter 7 - The Model’s Death (Part 2)

Outside the precinct.

Furina followed Officer Chen Lin to a patrol car.

Chen Lin casually slid into the passenger seat, clearly familiar with the routine.

Seeing Furina still standing outside, dazed and unmoving, she rolled down the window.

"Captain, why aren't you getting in?"

"Huh? Oh…"

Furina blinked, snapping out of her internal monologue about "what is this contraption?" as the other patrol cars pulled away.

She awkwardly opened the door and sat down—straight-backed—in the driver's seat. Her hands rested neatly on her thighs, and her intelligent eyes stared ahead through the windshield.

Seconds ticked by.

Furina remained perfectly still.

"Why isn't this thing moving? Is my posture wrong?"

"Yes… that must be it."

She adjusted her seat, crossed one leg over the other, folded her arms, and declared with elegance:

"Depart!"

Chen Lin: "???"

Livestream chat: "…"

— "I've finally figured it out. She's a certified airhead."

— "Fufu's beauty is clearly paid for with IQ points."

— "She looks like she's 15. Not knowing how to drive is normal."

— "It's not just driving—she doesn't even know what a car is. And that expression? Not acting."

Meanwhile, in the mirrored realms of the World of Sin, the other Chosen Ones had also received emergency calls.

They were still in a state of disbelief.

Everything they'd experienced so far defied logic—and any lingering thoughts of this being a prank had long vanished.

After all, what kind of prank teleports you to another dimension?

Among them, Japan's Chosen One, Moriyama Yano, was unusually excited.

Gifted with the S-tier talent "Power King," he could feel raw energy surging through his body.

"Yoshi! Am I really the Chosen One? The savior of the world?"

His inner anime protagonist awakened. He lowered his head, smirked, and let out a dramatic chuckle.

Then—he threw his head back and roared with laughter.

"If it breathes, I can kill it—even gods! From now on, only I can defeat me! Hahaha!"

"Captain, we should go," said an officer, staring at him like he'd lost his mind.

"Hm?"

Moriyama snapped out of his delusion and barked, "You! Stop right there!"

The officers turned, confused, as he strutted past them.

"No one walks ahead of the protagonist."

They boarded the patrol car and headed for Fengxiang Apartments.

 Back in Furina's mirrored realm…

She was still sitting stiffly in the driver's seat.

Truthfully, she was overwhelmed. But as a goddess collecting faith, she couldn't afford to show ignorance. A true deity must remain composed.

This world was far too unfamiliar. Everything was new—too new.

She still thought "netizens" referred to the officers.

She glanced sideways at the "netizen" in the passenger seat, who was now staring at her with growing concern.

Just as she was about to ask if the person was broken, Chen Lin spoke up:

"Captain, why aren't you driving? The others are almost at the crime scene."

"Drive?" Furina looked around the car's interior, puzzled. "What does that mean?"

Chen Lin sighed, opened the door, and stepped out.

Something about the Captain felt… off. Not just today, but since the start of this whole ordeal. Like someone had tampered with her memories.

And she wasn't alone—every officer who'd interacted with Furina felt the same.

Chen Lin circled the car and opened the driver's side door.

"Captain, how about I drive today?"

"You wish to sit in this seat?" Furina asked, tilting her head in confusion.

Chen Lin nodded.

"Very well. As a benevolent goddess who cherishes her people, I grant your request."
