Dragon Country, Fujian Province.
A region famous for its topography—"eight parts mountains, one part water, and one part farmland"—Fujian Province is characterized by extensive, rugged, hilly terrain.
Looking down from above, one sees a vast expanse of lush, green forest, a truly refreshing sight. A flock of Pidgey sweeps across the sky, stirring up a light wind, with scattered feathers occasionally drifting down.
In the dense forest below, a Caterpie is nestled beneath a tree, happily munching on fresh, tender green leaves. The Y-shaped antennae on its head twitch, signaling its clear satisfaction with its lunch. Nearby, a Rattata leads a few smaller Rattata, scurrying around, clearly intent on pilfering food from other Pokémon.
Kaito sat on a small wooden stool by the door, staring at the scene in a daze.
"Hmm..."
"So, this really is a world with Pokémon?"
Kaito touched his chin, glancing at the cute Eevee pattern on his T-shirt, then back at the Caterpie on the tree not far away. He finally confirmed that this was indeed reality.
"Ugh, still a little dizzy."
Patting his forehead, Kaito recalled everything that had transpired. In his previous life, he was a miserable office worker, constantly running ragged just to make a living. His only solace was the world of Pokémon. He eventually collapsed in front of his desk from sheer exhaustion.
For unknown reasons, he woke up as a baby in this world, was adopted by an elderly man, and raised to adulthood. It wasn't until now, after finishing his college entrance examination and turning eighteen, that the memories of his previous life fully awakened. The two sets of memories were still merging, leaving him slightly disoriented.
His grandfather had passed away not long ago—a peaceful end for the old man. What he inherited was a small farm and a significant plot of land. Behind the main residence was a three-story villa, with a clear, calm lake in front where one could vaguely see Poliwag swimming. To the right were abandoned farmlands and livestock sheds. Kaito had been busy studying, and his grandfather was too old for farm work, leaving only a single Miltank in the cowshed.
Behind the villa, near the ocean, was a small beach and a fish farm where some Krabby were raised. Krabby frequently shed their claws, which could be sold for a good price, making this the farm's main source of income.
So, I have to become a farm owner?
"Woof!"
A streak of orange light approached. A Growlithe ran up to Kaito, wagging its fluffy tail and rubbing its cheek against his leg.
"Hey, Growlithe. You're so cute."
Kaito stroked the smooth top of the dog's head. A warmth spread through him, and the silky fur made him rub it even harder.
"Woof woof!"
The Growlithe was delighted, sticking out its little tongue and rolling over, exposing its belly for more pets. This gesture is a sign of immense trust, equivalent to exposing their most vulnerable part.
"Good dog," Kaito said, smiling.
He had found this Growlithe in the mountains a while ago when it was still quite small. Wild Growlithe are relatively rare, and seeing that it wasn't faring well, he had taken it in and brought it back. Growlithe are fiercely loyal to their Trainers. Without a Trainer's command, they won't even budge. To protect their partner, they will bravely bark down any opponent. Brave and dependable, they are perfect partners.
"Woof, woof!"
After a soothing moment with Growlithe, Kaito's mood brightened, and he completely accepted his new reality. His dream had come true: he was in the Pokémon world, and he even had his own farm, land, and a loyal Pokémon like Growlithe. What more could he ask for?
He was content, even without a 'golden finger' or a 'system.' Being a farm owner was a great life!

[Welcome to the Pokémon System.]
Kaito: Huh?
"The 'golden finger' has arrived?"

Kaito quickly took stock of his new 'system,' which appeared to be divided into four main parts:
Pokédex Ability: Can identify information on things, including but not limited to Pokémon data and item details. Completing the Pokédex will yield rewards.
Pokémon Backpack: An infinite storage space for system-produced items. Slots can be unlocked with money to store non-system items.
Identity Task: By unlocking different identities, the system provides varied, voluntary, and non-penalizing tasks, each with a reward upon completion.
Pokémon Shop: A vast array of diverse goods available for purchase with money.
Kaito scanned through the features and focused his attention on the new task.
"The reward is a top-tier Pokémon with a perfect IV spread? They're quite generous."
"As for the produce..."
Kaito stood up and headed toward the beach. Growlithe, seeing this, scampered to follow him.
Arriving at the shore, the scent of the sea washed over him. Salty sea breezes swept through, creating ripples on the water's surface. Golden sand covered the ground, and just beyond was the shimmering sea, with waves gently crashing against the shore. Sandshrew occasionally burrowed out of the white sand, looked around, and quickly retreated back under. In the sky, Wingull spread their wings, soaring through the air, sometimes even racing with Emolga to see who could catch prey first.
Next to the beach was an area enclosed by a fence—his fish farm, or rather, his crab farm.
Upon entering the enclosure, the first thing Kaito saw was a bright red Krabby claw lying on the ground. It looked quite fresh, probably having been shed only recently. He bent down and picked it up; its reassuring weight felt good in his hand.
