Dave's POV
"That's not what we came for," I said flatly.
The manager's smile faltered for just a moment before he recovered. "Come now, Mr. Moreno. At least give them a chance. You never know—you might discover new fantasies tonight. Things you never even imagined."
Dom's patience snapped. He slammed his palm against his own forehead, a gesture of pure frustration. "How many times do we have to say it? That's not what we came for. We wanted to talk to you privately. That means no one else in the room. Is that really so hard to understand?"
I held up a hand toward Dom. "Easy."
In my mind, I was already calculating. This man ran a business built on keeping powerful clients happy. If we came in hot, demanding, treating him like dirt, he'd clam up. Give us just enough to get rid of us, but nothing useful. But if we made him feel like he was doing a good job—like we appreciated his efforts—he might open up. Might share things he wouldn't otherwise.
