" No way! " I said reflexively.
" Yes way!" They said.
" It's kinda wrong to date a cousin"
" Dating is a whole lot different from marriage plus, We're just on an operation for you to get a boyfriend " Sissy said.
" You think... my cousin is fit for my boyfriend?" I said with unbelief in my tone.
" He's so handsome" Mia said.
" I don't even talk to him at home, how do I start a normal conversation, not to talk of a conversation that'll lead to dating? We're this far apart" I said stretching my arms wide.
" I'm a super love expert." Sissy said.
" We'll teach you" Mia said and I sighed.
I went to meet Eddie.
" Going home?"
" Not right now, could you wait a little for me?" I asked.
" Alright" he said and I skipped back to Mia and Sissy.
We sat at a canteen.
" So well its vacation. won't he leave?" Mia asked.
And then I remembered the invitations.
" Oh my! have these!" I said with overflowing joy.
I gave them one each, leaving just one invitation left in my bag.
They read it.
"You're inviting us?" Mia asked.
" Oh M here's my excuse to get out of that freaking house with it's freaking maids" Sissy said
" And here is a chance to finally be away from my parents" Mia said.
" But I'll miss Alex" Sissy said and without skipping a beat, I brought out the third invitation.
" You could invite him"
" Oh my God. It's all set" Sissy said.
" We're going with a yacht" I said.
" Awwwwwn the most Romantic!" They squealed.
" Yeah" I said smiling sheepishly.
" So our Operation ' Getting that boy ' starts on that yacht" Mia said.
"Operation getting that boy?" I asked
" Yes, guidelines and missions on getting him to fall for you...you do like him don't you?" Sissy asked.
I felt a bit uneasy about that.
"You know, it doesn't have to be him, if you have someone else, we can use him instead"
I had mixed feelings.
Thinking of all those times Eddie and his brother stayed with us, I wanted it to be him because I could clearly remember being jealous as those little girls visited our house with assignment and other stupid problems just so they could talk to him and I remembered so many asking for my advice on how to be friends with him.
It felt like stones being hurled at me.
I remembered when a girl asked him out in school and how jealous I was because he was blushing.
You know, Ed always saw me as a boy back then, he'd play video games with me, run around, we'd swing dangerously and somersault all around the house so when I tried to be a girl, it felt weird.
" Are you done thinking?" Sissy asked me again.
" Yes"
" So ... "
" It doesn't matter, its only an experiment " I said and then I thought.
You tried to run from me Eddie, now you can't.
" Remember I haven't done anything like this before so it might not work."
"Just follow our rules and accomplish each mission and you'll get him and this..." Mia said holding up an anklet.
It was silver and had Reign girls written over it in gold.
" We have this for you". Sissy said pointing to it.
" Only when you get a kiss, you'll get this" Mia said as I stretched my hand out to take it.
" Why can't I get it now? "
"You're supposed to get it at the end of this whole thing, when we finally believe you're a reign girl but we're giving you when you get a kiss to get you all excited"
It finally felt real.
Seeing those anklets.
I smiled wide.
I was going to become a reign girl who knew how to put boys in their right place.
I took a deep breath.
" I'll get that kiss and the experience "
" Rest assured, we'll be your friends through thick and thin" Sissy said and even though she said it causally, It was the best thing anyone had ever said to me.
" Once a reign girl... forever a reign girl. Once our friend, our friend forever" Mia said and I felt so happy.
I'd never had real friends.
I always envied those who flocked together and called themselves besties, now that I was having mine, it felt so goooood and to top it, we weren't normal girls, we were girls everyone would respect.
" So when do we take off?" Sissy asked.
" Early tomorrow morning" I said.
" What about school? " Mia asked.
" We're almost done, my parents would notify the principal about it, what about you guys?"
" My parents aren't around anyway. I'll tell my uncle and you know what he'll say? You're free girl! Travel the world!" Sissy said and she and Mia started to laugh.
" I so love your uncle Sissy, I'm also good. My parents are sups busy so they would just nod and say yes" She said.
" Okay, Ed's waiting for me. I need to go" I said happily
" Bye! Wait! let's exchange contacts " Sissy said and I exchanged contacts with them.
Then I left and then I saw Eddie talking to a few girls.
" Just you wait... you'll be mine soon " I said to myself.
