"Dude, you look like death warmed over. Seriously, go find someone to screw or you're gonna lose it completely."
Ken stood in his doorway wearing nothing but boxers, completely oblivious to the war raging inside my chest. I pushed past him without a word, too drained to even acknowledge his comment, and collapsed onto his couch like my body had finally given up on me.
The moment I hit the cushions, a groan ripped from my throat so loud that Ken actually laughed like he was watching some comedy show.
I was beyond exhausted. Completely destroyed. My mind felt like it had been put through a blender, my body stretched to its breaking point. The pounding in my skull never stopped, every breath seemed too loud, too much effort. I couldn't turn off my thoughts, couldn't find any peace, couldn't stop the constant fucking torment. The worst part? Four straight nights without sleep.
All because Julia was back home.
