Chapter 8 - Bomb at the Door

"Hellfire Club's White Queen, five million U.S. dollars for a night of passion, the bounty remains unclaimed, and three wealthy individuals have vanished without a trace."

"S.H.I.E.L.D. Level 11 Agent Mockingbird, her whereabouts are uncertain, and her latest mission location is suspected to be South America."

"Princess Shuri of Wakanda, a technological genius, is constantly surrounded by the Royal Guard, and any male creature that approaches will have its neck twisted on the spot."

Lynt shook his head as he read.

Too difficult.

Each one was trickier than the last.

With a vixen like the White Queen, who toyed with people's minds, if he got close, his bones would be ground to dust.

The rest were either elusive, like a dragon seen only by its head, or guarded as strictly as the White House.

He needed a new charging socket.

One with enough power, high enough returns, and most importantly—not clingy!

A professional woman who could be dealt with through money and interests.

A ruthless character who understood the rules, focused only on transactions, and never on emotions.

Suddenly, a name popped out.

It was frequently mentioned in a post selling internal S.H.I.E.L.D. assessment reports.

Natasha Romanoff.

Lynt's finger paused.

Black Widow!

He quickly exited the dark web and searched for the name using a regular browser.

A New York Times report popped up.

In the photo, a red-haired woman in a sharp black business suit was accompanying a portly senator at a charity gala.

She smiled impeccably, like a perfect vase.

But her eyes were like a hawk's.

It was her!

Lynt's heart pounded.

Black Widow Natasha!

Her strength, top-tier!

Her beauty, top-tier!

Her bathwater, absolutely top-tier!

An ace Agent who constantly danced on the edge of a knife would absolutely be unable to resist the temptation of permanent strength enhancement!

Most importantly, she was a monster who crawled out of a place like the Red Room.

To her, everything was negotiable, and emotions were the most useless thing.

She wanted strength, he wanted money, and he could also improve himself in the process.

A fair trade, a clean break.

This was much simpler than dealing with the Yandere woman beside him!

Lynt stared at the red-haired woman on his phone screen, his eyes flashing with brilliance.

His new money printer had been found!

Now the problem was, how to connect with Black Widow without Raven's 24/7 surveillance… He deleted all browsing history, confirming his phone was as clean as new.

Just as he unlocked the bathroom door—

"Whoosh—!!!!"

Outside the apartment building, a piercing, ear-splitting alarm suddenly blared without warning!

Immediately after—

Boom!!!

A loud bang!

The wall beside Lynt was as if it had been violently struck by a battering ram!

Bricks and concrete instantly exploded, revealing a terrifying large hole!

Before he could react, a metallic object glowing with a faint blue energy, whooshed through the air!

Spinning, carrying the whistle of the God of Death, it fiercely embedded itself into the floor half an inch in front of his feet!

It hummed loudly!

"Sizzle—"

Blue electrical sparks were still dancing on the floor.

A mixed smell of burnt wood and ozone choked him, making his nose sting.

Lynt froze.

His brain wasn't blank; it had crashed.

He stared intently at the object, less than ten centimeters from his toes.

A chill, not from his feet, but from his groin, shot straight up to his scalp.

His hair stood on end.

The red light on the dart flashed like a death warrant.

Lynt's scalp tingled, and without thinking, he turned and dove towards the bedroom!

Rumble—!

Good thing, I've seen Hollywood blockbusters!

The blast wave almost pushed his butt, slamming him into Raven, who had just rushed out of the room.

Soft, springy, fragrant.

"Holy crap! There's a bomb!"

Lynt's face was pale, and he was still trembling as he held Raven.

Outside the large hole blasted in the wall, two dark figures stood, completely blocking the light from the corridor.

The one on the left was built like a grizzly bear, his muscles almost bursting through his leather vest.

When he opened his mouth, a mouthful of stark white metal teeth gleamed in the darkness, looking as if they could chew human bones to pieces.

The one on the right was thinner, in a black leather combat suit, looking like a leopard.

He wore tactical goggles with a flashing red dot on his face, and his fingers were twirling an identical energy dart, humming like a venomous snake flicking its tongue.

"Raven, the boss wants you to go back."

The Steel-toothed man spoke with a deep, booming voice, rough like sandpaper rubbing against iron.

"Save your breath, Big Steel-tooth."

The thin man, the one codenamed Huosha (Spark), tilted his head, and the red dot of his goggles swept across the room.

"Does your muscle-brained pig think she'll listen?"

The startled Raven immediately flipped over, shielding Lynt behind her.

All her muscles tensed.

Her blue skin glowed with a dangerous cold light in the moonlight.

She didn't even look at the two scoundrels.

Like a blue tigress protecting her food.

"Big Steel-tooth, Huosha (Spark)."

Raven's voice was devoid of warmth, cold and hard.

"Get out."

"Tsk, Raven, so uncooperative?"

Huosha (Spark) chuckled, the dart in his hand stopped, its tip pointed at Raven.

"The boss misses you very much, and the Brotherhood needs you. Is it worth it for a mere mortal? Come with us, and we can pretend we didn't see this pretty boy."

"What if I don't?"

"Then we'll just have to invite you back."

Big Steel-tooth took a step forward, his combat boot stomping on the floor with a thud, making the entire building feel like it shook.

His murky eyes passed over Raven's shoulder, fixating on the still-trembling Lynt behind her.

"And you, pretty boy,"

Big Steel-tooth's metal teeth ground together, making a grating sound.

"Did you abduct Raven? The boss said he'd tear you apart, like tearing a piece of paper used to wipe his ass, into shreds."

As soon as these words came out, the fear in Lynt's heart was instantly replaced by a surge of anger that rose to his throat.

I abducted her?

Are you blind, you bastard!

Didn't you see her protecting me?

Who's controlling whom?! I'm the victim!

Adrenaline surged to his head, and the will to survive overwhelmed all reason.

"Damn you, Magneto!"

Lynt didn't know where he got the courage, but he roared at the two dark figures.

"Tell him to come himself! What kind of trash sends you two lackeys! Go back and tell that metal-head to clean his neck, I'll get him sooner or later..."

Before he could finish his harsh words, a cold hand gently pressed over his mouth.

Raven glanced back at him.

In her golden beast-like eyes, her emotions were complex.

A bit surprised, a bit annoyed.

More of a... "Good insult, but don't do it next time."

The next second.

The battle erupted.

Big Steel-tooth roared, his over two-hundred-pound body like a small tank, charging fiercely, his massive fists aiming directly for Raven's face!

Raven didn't dodge or evade.

Instead of retreating, she advanced!

After several charges, her physical attributes were no longer what they used to be.

Facing this overwhelming punch, she sank her waist, and her entire body, like a boneless blue viper, slid into Big Steel-tooth's embrace.

Just as they came into close contact, her foot seemed to trip on some broken wood, and her posture only paused for a moment.

But the next moment, she adjusted her stance even faster!

Her elbow, knee, knuckles—every part of her body became a weapon.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The dull thuds were as dense as firecrackers during the New Year!

Each muffled impact precisely struck Big Steel-tooth's ribs, joints, and kidney area—all his weak points.
