Chapter 9 - Bloody Massacre

Big Steel Teeth was like a clumsy bear, full of brute strength, yet so entangled that he couldn't even swing his fists properly, being forced to retreat repeatedly.

His head buzzed. Was this really that Raven?

This strength, this speed, this fighting style… they were completely different people!

"Huosha (Spark), now!"

Big Steel Teeth roared in frustration.

Huosha (Spark), who had been watching the show from the side, a cold glint flashed in his eyes.

The opportunity had arrived.

An energy shuriken flew from his hand!

It traced a tricky blue arc!

The target wasn't Raven!

It was the only burden behind her—Lynt!

First, get rid of this pretty boy who was distracting Raven!

Raven had just kicked Big Steel Teeth away with a whip-kick when the corner of her eye caught the deadly blue light.

Her face instantly changed!

"Careful!"

She wanted to defend, but Big Steel Teeth lunged at her like a madman, grabbing her ankle and flinging her away.

That shuriken rapidly expanded in Lynt's pupils.

Death, cold, sticky.

It's over.

As these two words flashed through his mind, his body moved on its own.

His legs went soft, and he tried to roll to the side.

Coincidentally.

His foot happened to land on the previously scorched floor, and the charcoal cracked.

His foot slipped!

With a thud, he fell face-first onto the nearby sofa in a perfect 'old lady falling' posture.

It was this fall.

Embarrassing, humiliating, utterly undignified.

Oh, no, he had no dignity left anyway.

A plucked chicken.

Yet, it allowed him to dodge the deadly shuriken by a hair's breadth!

"Boom!"

The energy shuriken flew past his back, embedded itself in the floor, and exploded in a burst of blue light!

The Impact was like a huge slap, fiercely sending him flying.

His back hit the armrest of the sofa, making him so sore he almost threw up his dinner from the night before.

His back burned with pain; his skin must have been scorched.

But… he was still alive, dammit!

Lynt lay on the ground, panting like a dog out of Water, his heart pounding so hard it felt like it would leap out of his mouth.

He survived!

Big Steel Teeth and Huosha (Spark) were both stunned.

They saw it clearly.

That ordinary person, with an utterly ridiculous fall, dodged Huosha (Spark)'s fatal blow.

It was an… absurd accident.

But how could there be such a convenient accident?

The center of the battlefield suddenly fell silent.

A deathly silence.

Raven saw that although Lynt had fallen like a dead dog, he hadn't been directly hit.

Her heart, which had been in her throat, dropped back into her stomach.

Immediately after.

A rage colder than a Siberian cold front, darker than the abyss, exploded from the deepest part of her heart.

Magneto.

Brotherhood.

The pursuit.

All those old scores didn't matter anymore.

But they… they had almost ruined her thing just now.

That unique, one-of-a-kind thing in the entire World, that could make her stronger, make her feel safe, and even… make her feel like she had a home… her power bank.

Raven slowly, one inch at a time, stood up.

She no longer looked at Lynt.

In those golden Beast-like eyes, all anger and worry were gone.

Only a dead silence remained.

Like looking at two stones, two corpses.

She spoke, her voice very soft, as light as a snowflake falling to the ground.

Yet it made Big Steel Teeth and Huosha (Spark) both feel their scalps tingle.

"You…"

She paused.

"…you hurt him."

Three words, uttered from Raven's mouth, devoid of any warmth.

Like the wind seeping from the crack of a morgue door in the dead of winter.

Big Steel Teeth and Huosha (Spark), two Mutants who lived by the sword, felt the hairs on the back of their necks stand on end instantly.

They smelled death.

A smell mixed with blood, slaughter, and pure malice.

It was continuously emanating from the blue-skinned woman before them.

"You…"

Big Steel Teeth's throat tightened, his metal teeth grinding together, making a dry scraping sound.

"Crazy woman, the boss just wanted you to…"

His words were swallowed by the tearing air.

Raven moved.

A blue phantom, leaving an afterimage in its wake, instantly crossed several meters!

As Big Steel Teeth's pupils contracted to a pinprick, battle instincts took over his body.

He roared, his two arms, thicker than an ordinary person's thighs, swung wildly forward like two battering rams!

The force of his punches tore through the air, emitting dull explosions!

He wanted to smash everything in front of him into meat paste!

Just as the blue figure was about to be swallowed by the furious punches.

"Over here, idiot!"

A roar exploded from behind the sofa.

It was Lynt!

Half his body was still buried in the sofa cushions, but he somehow pulled out a concrete block, half the size of a head, and with all his might, hurled it towards Big Steel Teeth's side face!

The stone flew crookedly, completely off target.

A hint of disdain flashed in Big Steel Teeth's eyes, and he merely tilted his head.

"Seeking death…"

The stone grazed his ear and hit the wall.

A trivial distraction, less than half a second.

But for a true hunter, it was Eternity.

Raven seized this opening.

Her body, in a manner that defied Newton's laws, dropped!

She became like a puddle of boneless liquid metal, sliding along the ground behind Big Steel Teeth.

The next instant.

She sprang up!

Her body was like a fully drawn bow, her right leg taut in a straight line, and with an ear-piercing whoosh, she precisely kicked Big Steel Teeth in the back of his right knee!

"Crack!"

The sound of bone shattering was so crisp it made one's scalp tingle!

Big Steel Teeth's two-hundred-plus-pound body suddenly slumped, his right leg twisted backward into a grotesque shape, and he uncontrollably dropped to one knee!

"Ah ah ah—!"

The intense pain made him howl like a wild Beast.

He wanted to turn around, wanted to smash the enemy behind him with his iron fists!

Too late.

Raven had already climbed onto his back like a female leopard.

Her right hand, at the moment of attachment, had its cells and bones rapidly reorganized beneath the skin.

Five slender fingers, in the blink of an eye, transformed into five gleaming blades!

Pfft!

Without the slightest hesitation.

That hand, from Big Steel Teeth's mouth, wide open from agony, plunged in fiercely!

It tore through the base of his tongue, pierced his palate, and went upwards!

"Gritch…"

The fingers pushed past the resistance of the skull, precisely, into the warm brain.

Big Steel Teeth's roar abruptly ceased.

His massive body crashed forward heavily.

Thud.

Kicking up a cloud of dust.

On the other side, Huosha (Spark) was already frozen with fear.

He watched his companion, a strong man who could overturn a car with his bare hands.

In less than three seconds, turn into a cold corpse.

The Raven before him was not the woman he remembered, who was skilled in infiltration and disguise!

"Damn it! Damn it!"

The will to survive overcame fear, and Huosha (Spark), like a madman, tore energy shurikens from his tactical vest!

Six of them!

The ethereal blue energy hummed, casting a ghastly pallor over his pale face!

"Die!"

Six deadly blue lights, with shrieks, sealed off all of Raven's dodging space from six different angles!

A net of death woven from pure energy descended upon her!

However.

Raven merely tilted her head.

Her body began to dance.

Side step, lean back, shuffle, twist her waist.

Every movement was extremely simple, yet extremely precise.

Whoosh!

A shuriken grazed her cheek, the scorching energy singeing a few strands of her hair.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

Two shurikens passed under her armpit and by her leg, missing by mere millimeters.

She was like a dancer kissed by the goddess of fortune, moving leisurely through the dense barrage of death.
