Chapter 4 - Am I going mad?

\|/ Turn 3

The eye keeps appearing.

It keeps changing positions, but it's there.

It's dark again as I'm writing, I keep barely seeing its reflection from the bioluminescent mold.

I'll… I'll try to write about the day.

When I woke up this turn, I was warm enough to function properly.

Sleeping on the ground is horrible, but I wasn't freezing. Progress…

My back thorns still hurt. I think the broken one is healing. The two that were torn are sealing. They hurt less but are agonizing if I touch them. They must look horrible, the scales healing wrong. I can't see it, but I can imagine it, and it makes me feel so damn ugly…

The mold is slowly going to the stick. It'll be useful as a lamp in the following turns.

In the early light, I visited the alien again. This time I had my cloak and was actually camouflaged, so I went closer. The alien had used the parachute as a blanket. Even if it was mad, at least it was resourceful. It kept a bunch of the parachutes, chopped up into squares, to the side.

When it got up and started walking, I decided to follow it. After a bit of walking, wherein I was hiding behind bushes and such, I saw it had found a water spring. It had almost noticed me during the walk. I made a noise, and it snapped around with that hatchet and injured arm, but I am small enough to hide anywhere, now with my cloak I'm not bright yellow against green.

It bent down and THERES THE EYE! I SWEAR IM NOT GOING MAD!

I saw it. Its pupil is black, and it has a horizontally slit white line! It was behind a bush near my camp!

I really don't know what to do about the eye… I saw Tau wildlife, heard it far too loudly too… maybe it's just some nocturnal creature passing my "camp" repeatedly…

I can't feel any air taste from it, it makes me nervous.

Uh, right, water.

The alien found water and bent down with some kind of tube and drank from it. Filtration? I know Scale aside from Thornkin and Gatorid can't drink "raw water" and usually drink it from the mouth (always found that weird), but I'm not sure. After it left, I took the cloak off and went into the water spring, being careful not to get the bandages or my disfigured back wet. It was too cold, but finally absorbing some water felt beautiful, despite not being particularly thirsty.

Afterwards I went back to my camp (carefully avoiding what I deemed to be the alien's territory, near what used to be its ship) and worked on my cloak some more.

I'm so damn hungry. Tomorrow I'll try to work on figuring out any kind of food.

I see the eye again
