Chapter 719: Gods Reborn in Fire?

The Ghosts of the Pantheon

Heaven and earth were clearly divided.

On one side was the stone army led by the giant, and on the other, the army of specters enveloped in a sea of fire.

Without any formal declaration, the war began.

The two torrents of power crashed together silently, clashing, battling, and devouring each other. In an instant, the sky collapsed and the earth shattered. Shockwaves of various colors exploded in the sky, threatening to change the appearance of the entire world.

Hundreds of chains whipped down continuously. Each attack managed to leave a large empty space, yet the next moment, even more specters surged out, and among them appeared powerful figures radiating a terrifying aura.

Luke turned around. When he saw those distinct specters, his pupils slightly constricted.

"It's them? How is that possible?"

The Buddha, the Twin-Eyed Woman, Artemis, Hanyue, and four other "unfamiliar" male faces... These specters were the remnants of the gods who were dragged into Luke's Green Flame World and burned to death.

They died, didn't they? Why are they appearing in this way? What's going on?

Luke felt an inexplicable unease. He quickly turned and approached the eight figures.

They stood there in silence, wrapped in green fire, possessing complete bodies unlike ordinary specters.

Luke's expression solidified. He stared coldly at them.

"Who are you? Where did you come from?"

The eight looked up simultaneously. Upon seeing Luke, their vacant eyes gradually focused, as if recalling something. They knelt on one knee.

"Greetings, Lord."

Lord?

Luke let out a short laugh, the killing intent in his eyes surging. "I don't even know who you are. How could I be your Lord? Tell me, who created you?"

The eight were silent, simultaneously opening their minds and submitting, like lambs to the slaughter, allowing Luke to do as he wished.

Luke frowned slightly. After a moment of silence, he separated a wisp of consciousness and infiltrated Hanyue's soul. He saw raging fire. The woman was wrapped in the flames, struggling fiercely but fruitlessly. Her body slowly melted, destroyed by the fire, becoming fuel. Finally, only a faint light remained—the personality consciousness formed by memory fragments, the very essence of a person.

The flame stopped attacking and instead enveloped it, slowly seeping inward. Time seemed to stand still, yet felt like an eternity. After an indeterminate amount of time, a woman was reborn in the flame, possessing her previous soul-body, memory, and personality, but she was no longer the Moon Goddess of the past.

The vision ended there.

Luke took a deep breath, then checked the consciousness of the others. The result was the same: all eight were born in this manner.

People killed by the Green Flame were resurrected by the Green Flame.

Why hadn't this happened before? A series of questions flooded his mind. He resolved to test this thoroughly once the current situation was over.

"Why do you call me Lord?"

"The Lord is the Lord," the eight replied in unison, their expressions unchanging.

Luke couldn't help but chuckle. He pointed at Hanyue.

"What is your name?"

"My original name is Hanyue. The Lord may choose another name."

Luke said coldly, "I destroyed your clone-soul in the Green Flame World, and I just now destroyed your true spirit. Don't you hate me?"

Hanyue looked confused.

"Why should I hate you? Everything the Lord does is right."

Luke turned to the others. "And you all? Do you share this thought?"

The seven all nodded, without the slightest hesitation.

Luke continued, "How many like you are there?"

"We don't know. We only awakened when we heard the Lord's call and followed our instinct here."

"What are your abilities?"

Luke looked toward the chains suspended in the sky and the colossal stone army. "Show me."

"As you command!"

The eight figures nodded and shot upward like streams of light. Hanyue began to sing. Where her song reached, the stone soldiers halted, and the First Celestial Court Lord also froze, staring blankly at the woman in the sky.

Is that his granddaughter? Why is she burning with green fire?

Artemis drew a longbow condensed from divine power. As she drew the string, a storm gathered. With a furious shout, a giant tornado appeared in the sky. The rapidly swirling winds transformed into countless blades, cutting and pulverizing. A void was carved out of the battlefield, stretching to the very limit of their vision.

The Twin-Eyed Woman and The Buddha targeted the chains in the sky. One unleashed a razor-sharp white energy blade, and the other hurled an indestructible prayer bead.

The remaining four also displayed their unique powers, inflicting heavy damage on the stone army.

Luke's eyelids were twitching. The combat power of these individuals was unsettling. They feel stronger than before. That makes no sense!

Watching from a distance, Diana was staring intently at the Twin-Eyed Woman. This woman had made the deepest impression on her during the trip to the Underworld. She died, didn't she? Why is she here? And the green fire surrounding her.

Is it Luke?

The instant the eight joined the fight, they reversed the tide of battle, creating a crushing advantage. The seemingly powerful stone army was reduced by two-thirds in a flash. The eight even shifted their focus, attacking the giant directly.

Luke did not intervene, watching quietly. He needed to understand what was happening.

The First Celestial Court Lord ignored his disintegrating army and focused on Hanyue. The red light in its eye sockets flickered. It suddenly opened its mouth and emitted a deep, overwhelming growl.

"Why? Why is it you? No, it's not you. You are not her."

"You all deserve to die!"

It gripped the lightning spear and swept it forward forcefully. The air crackled. The overflowing electricity turned into countless electrical snakes, howling as they rushed toward the eight figures.

At the same time, the giant opened its mouth and spat out a columnar blast of yellowish-brown light.

The light column swept across the sky. Everything in its path began to petrify. The Buddha's left leg was grazed by the light column, and yellowish-brown spots appeared on his calf. The spots rapidly spread upward, and in just five seconds, he was turned into a stone statue.

"Dead?" Luke muttered to himself. He immediately shook his head. No, the consciousness is still present. That means as long as they return to the Green Flame World, resurrection is possible.

The yellow light column was not just an energy attack; it also possessed the power of petrification, akin to a rule-based ability.

The seven remaining figures dared not face the attack head-on. They dodged while employing various methods to attack. Artemis summoned a gigantic storm that connected the heavens and the earth, obscuring the giant's vision.

The Twin-Eyed Woman transformed into a thousand-meter-long white greatsword. The sword light traversed the heavens and the earth.

Pfft!

The giant's left hand was instantly severed by the strike. Blood spilled from the wound, crashing onto the ground like a meteorite.

ROAR!

A deafening roar split the sky. The enraged giant raised its right fist and slammed it forcefully onto the ground.

Boom!

The earth seemed to come alive, surging up in waves hundreds of meters high. The earth shook, the sky shook, and the entire world trembled.
