Chapter 713 - Chapter 713: The Goddess Goes Shopping

Chapter 713: The Goddess Goes Shopping

The Princess's Terms

It proves true that all beautiful first impressions slowly fade with time.

When Luke first saw Hanyue, he was stunned for a full five seconds. That goddess, like moonlight, whose appearance, temperament, and voice were the best on Earth, represented the most beautiful stories in the world.

After spending some time together, everything changed.

Luke could neither provide what Hanyue desired nor was he interested in spending his days being her subordinate.

Her grandfather was the First Celestial Court Lord, her father the Second, and her brother the Third. Just hearing this was enough to know her high status in the Celestial Court.

She was a true princess. Although she hadn't developed the bad habits of others, she was inherently an arrogant person who liked to befriend the brave, fearless, and morally noble. Luke clearly did not meet her standards.

Likewise, Luke couldn't stand her "self-righteousness."

They were simply not on the same path.

Time passed slowly. Finally, Hanyue gave her answer:

"I want to leave this place."

"Is that all?"

"That is the only condition, for now."

Luke was annoyed. "What do you mean, 'for now'? Can you think clearly before you answer? You're a Celestial Court Princess, don't you have any plan in your head?"

Hanyue replied calmly,

"I haven't been back to the mortal world for several millennia. What has Earth become? How far has human civilization advanced? And the Celestial Court..." She paused here, a hint of silence in her voice.

"I know nothing. How can I make a plan?"

Luke was speechless. Though irritated, he had to admit her point was valid.

"Fine, I'll meet your condition. However, you must tell me the location of Buzhou Mountain."

"Agreed. Let me out, and I will tell you where Buzhou Mountain is."

Luke said no more. His consciousness returned to his body. A vortex appeared in his palm, and a phantom figure flew out of it.

Five thousand years had passed. The Celestial Court Princess had finally returned to the land where she once lived.

Looking at the familiar snow-capped mountains and green waters, she froze. Her eyes filled with tears, and she couldn't help but weep.

Diana stared at her in shock, taking in the face, the temperament, and the uniquely styled Immortal Flow Dress.

Hanyue, the Moon Goddess.

"Luke, what's going on? How is she here? I thought she was dead."

Luke shook his head. "I'll explain later."

He stepped forward and said,

"This is Kunlun. You once said Buzhou Mountain is above Kunlun. Tell me, where is it?"

Hanyue wiped away her tears and turned back to him.

"I want to see the human world first."

"..."

"Seven days. After seven days, I will take you to the Celestial Court ruins. I give you my word. I will not break it."

Luke took a deep breath. "Fine, I'll trust you one more time. The last time."

A Goddess Discovers Modernity

The next morning, in the capital city of China.

Luke and Diana appeared on the most bustling commercial street, with Hanyue floating behind them in her soul form. Ordinary people could not see her; only those who could were considered non-ordinary.

To avoid trouble, Luke had specially disguised himself before leaving. He now had a small mustache, rainbow-tinted sunglasses, and fillers on his cheeks and forehead. Only people very familiar with him would recognize him.

Shopping is a man's nemesis, and Luke was no exception. He hated aimless wandering the most. Diana, however, thought otherwise. It was as if a certain gene had been activated in her, unleashing immense enthusiasm.

After just an hour, Luke was sprawled on a sofa, unwilling to move. A young man nearby asked curiously,

"Uh... is that your girlfriend?"

Luke nodded, pulled out a cigarette, then sighed and put it away after seeing the "No Smoking" sign on the wall.

"How did you manage to find such a beautiful girlfriend?"

"Talent."

Leaving the one-word answer, Luke got up and walked over to Diana, who was posing in front of a mirror.

"See anything you like?"

Diana said with a hint of distress, "Those few pieces were nice, but something just felt off."

"Then buy them all and try them on slowly back at the hotel."

"Why would I need so many clothes? I won't use them."

Luke shrugged. "Who says you won't? Tear one every day, and they'll be gone soon enough."

Diana was speechless and shot him a fierce glare. The saleswoman nearby, however, was confused. Tear one every day? Are clothes meant to be torn? If it weren't for the designer labels Luke was wearing, she would have suspected they were just staging a photoshoot.

Luke placed his bank card on the counter.

"Package all those pieces she looked at." He turned his head and looked at Hanyue floating in the air. After a moment of hesitation, the Princess from the Celestial Court could not resist the innate curiosity hidden deep in her spiritual core and reached her consciousness toward a gray-white dress with a slightly conservative style.

"That dress, and the four sets next to it. Package those up too."

The saleswoman was overjoyed, her eyes instantly becoming friendlier toward Luke. Hundreds of thousands! Without even blinking! Who was this wealthy bachelor? She scrutinized him, then suddenly felt something was wrong.

That face... she felt she had seen it somewhere. As Luke walked out, she finally remembered.

"It's him! Oh my God, how could he be here?"

"My heavens, that's insane!"

A colleague next to her teased, "What, did you see another handsome guy?"

The saleswoman grabbed her colleague's arm, her voice trembling. "Not a handsome guy, it's... Shaw... Shaw..."

"Which Shaw?"

"The world's richest man!"

The colleague: "..."

"Don't be silly. Why would Luke Shaw come to our store? Even if he was shopping with his girlfriend, he'd have bodyguards. Look at him! He has no entourage."

"I'm not mistaken! It's really him!"

She quickly chased after him, blocking Luke's path and asking excitedly,

"Excuse me, are you Shaw..."

Luke raised his finger. "Just a dream."

As the words left his lips, the girl's eyes lost focus. When she cleared her head again, she had forgotten about Luke and didn't even know why she had left the store.

At 7 PM, the pair, laden with shopping bags, returned to the hotel. The moment Luke's backside hit the sofa, he felt the whole world become wonderful again.

Before long, Hanyue returned too, having undergone a huge transformation. Her coiled hair was gone, replaced by long, straight black hair. The Immortal Flow Dress was gone, replaced by a white dress with a belted ribbon at the waist, perfectly highlighting her slender figure and shapely bust.

Luke couldn't help but gasp in admiration. This woman's beauty was truly unparalleled.

Hanyue was quite pleased with the outfit, checking herself out in the mirror repeatedly. It was unclear how she, as a soul entity, was even viewing her reflection.

Luke poured a glass of red wine, sipping it as he spoke,

"This is modern human civilization. What do you think?"

Hanyue thought for a moment, then slowly said, "It is very prosperous, quite unbelievable. But the core nature hasn't changed."

"Oh!"

Luke raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised. "I didn't expect you to see that point. What are your plans for tomorrow? More shopping?"

Hanyue shook her head.

"I need a phone and a computer. You must teach me how to use the internet."
