Chapter 712: Becoming a God (4)
A Means of Catharsis
Diana's will was extremely firm, with high self-control and discipline. Luke rarely saw her in a state of weariness, and today was the first time.
Luke scrutinized her, then shook his head slightly.
"How much are you planning to drink?"
"I don't know. Enough to hopefully pass out."
"Pardon my frankness, but alcohol won't do much for you. If you want to vent, we can use other methods."
"What methods?"
Luke stepped forward and casually pulled her into his embrace.
"Such as me. I can be your channel for catharsis."
Diana rolled her eyes, unable to stop a smile.
"I'm afraid I'll break you."
"Want to try?"
"Bring it on."
Diana ripped Luke's shirt straight down the middle. Luke didn't hold back either, pressing her onto the floor as clothes flew around like confetti.
Before long, only two naked people remained on the ground.
The room temperature soared. With a muffled roar, suppressed gasps filled the air. Sweat streamed down their skin, pooling into rivulets on the floor. Luke's skin unconsciously turned red, and so did Diana's.
They were like two furnaces—love, desire, flesh, and soul all melted into one, inseparable.
The storm raged and subsided. When the heat finally calmed down, Diana lay in Luke's arms, her limbs exhausted, yet mixed with an unspeakable sense of exhilaration. This feeling was incredible.
"Luke, did you use magic?"
"What are you saying? Do I need magic to have sex?"
"But..."
Diana frowned. Something felt off. Luke was strongest in his soul. While his body had been strengthened by various means to superhuman levels, he was still far behind Diana. Logically, this shouldn't have happened.
Luke laughed. "Only with true love in your heart can you reach this level."
He got up and poured a full glass of cool water, which he instantly drained.
"Diana, do you want to take a trip—just the two of us?"
"You and me?"
"Yes."
Diana felt joy but hesitated. "Is that appropriate?"
"What's inappropriate about it? It's just you and me. Our world only. Forget what other people think."
Diana thought about it and finally nodded.
"Where to? How long will we be gone?"
"China. Buzhou Mountain. As for the time, a week at the least, a month at the most."
The Search for Buzhou Mountain
Two days later, near the Kunlun Mountains in Western China.
Luke, dressed as a tourist, looked up at the sky. The snow-covered mountains were shrouded in clouds. Suddenly, a strong wind blew, and the clouds churned, sometimes forming a raging dragon, sometimes a fierce tiger. The air surged with a sense of immense, primal power.
"I remember!"
Diana suddenly exclaimed. "I remember what Buzhou Mountain is! It's the Celestial Court, the Eastern Celestial Court, one of the seven great pantheons, is on Buzhou Mountain!"
"You're looking for the Celestial Court."
"It took you this long to remember? Diana, you really are slow."
"I'm not slow; you were being cryptic! If you were looking for the Celestial Court, you should have just said so. Why call it Buzhou Mountain? Do you even know where it is?"
Luke shook his head. "If I knew, I wouldn't be dressed as a tourist."
Since night was approaching, the two found a sheltered spot to settle down.
After dinner, they naturally engaged in another "intense battle of souls." After the passion subsided, they nestled together, sitting on the mountain peak, gazing at the great, dark plain below.
Diana took the cigar from Luke's mouth, snuffed it out, and tossed it aside.
"Why are you looking for the Celestial Court?"
"I want to become a God!"
Diana thought she had misheard. After a moment, she frowned.
"What are you talking about? Become a God? How is that possible?"
"The Eastern Celestial Court is different from the other pantheons. Most of its deities evolved from mortals. The Taoist techniques I use are part of the Eastern Celestial Court's legacy."
"You're already so powerful. Why do you still want to become a God?"
Diana looked up, her expression unusually serious.
"Luke, don't become obsessed with power. No one who is captivated by power ever comes to a good end."
Luke gave a helpless smile. "Some things aren't up to me. I'm doing this not just for myself, but for you as well."
Diana became more confused.
"What does your becoming a God have to do with me?"
Luke tucked her hair behind her ear. "I'll tell you later."
"You... fine!"
Diana sighed. "I can't persuade you. If you want to become a God, go ahead, but the prerequisite is finding Buzhou Mountain."
Buzhou Mountain was the location of the Celestial Court, much like Mount Olympus for the Greek Gods or the Solar Palace for the Egyptian Gods—places inaccessible to mortals.
It was the dwelling place of the gods, existing only in legend and rarely documented in books.
The archives in the Rock of Eternity did contain several descriptions of Buzhou Mountain. They said it was impossibly high, connecting heaven and earth like a pillar.
The gods were above, and mortals were below.
To climb Buzhou Mountain, one had to endure wind, sun, lightning, and fire, climbing a hundred thousand miles with body and spirit unified, only then earning the right to touch the realm of the gods.
Luke dismissed all these descriptions as nonsense.
But where was Buzhou Mountain? He truly didn't know. Hanyue had mentioned it was above Kunlun. Urzkartaga, however, said that Buzhou Mountain was not on Earth; like Mount Olympus and the Solar Palace, it existed in another dimension.
The peak connecting heaven and earth was merely the key to entering that world.
Combining their information, he could roughly deduce that Buzhou Mountain was located in this region, either hidden by magic or in a folded space.
Unfortunately, the body of the Cold Moon Princess hadn't been fully repaired yet. Otherwise, with its ability, the location would be found quickly.
The next morning, the well-rested pair continued their journey, freely enjoying their time together like newlyweds on a honeymoon.
Three days passed in a flash. They had circled the Kunlun Mountains but still found no clues.
Diana asked uncertainly,
"Are you sure it's here?"
"There's no other place besides Kunlun Mountain."
"But we've searched this entire area. We haven't found the 'pillar' you mentioned."
Luke fell silent. After a moment of thought, he closed his eyes, and his consciousness entered the soul realm. He found the Cold Moon Princess, who was busy grooming herself.
"Haven't you decided yet?"
Hanyue looked up, quietly watching him.
"I don't know if I should believe you."
"It seems you don't."
"These past few days, I've recalled many things about you. You saved me, but you also tricked me. And those other gods... they are all dead, aren't they?"
Luke nodded. "I killed them."
"Why did you spare me? And why use the Soul Crystal to bring me back to life? What exactly do you want?"
"You're beautiful. Exceedingly beautiful."
Hanyue shook her head. "You're not the kind of person to be fooled by mere appearance."
"You helped me."
"That alone is not enough to convince me."
Luke frowned, struggling to suppress his impatience. "What exactly do you want? Yes or no? Can you be straightforward and stop wasting time?"
