"What was said by your friend to you on the phone? Did he already say he was coming with your son? Doctor Escobar asked George in the ward. He was standing next to George and witnessed everything that happened.
George was absolutely shocked.
He kept staring at his phone, wondering why Kelly had to end the conversation in such a disrespectful way.
"We are running out of time. What did your buddy say to you? Should we expect him soon?" Escobar posed another question, to which no one responded.
That was the attitude that made him lose his cool.
"You are not just doing it; you are spitting at me," Escobar raged.
Despite his frustration, he tried not to yell at George due to his heart condition.
"He will get here soon.
He has just spoken with my son."
George lied. He forced a smile to go with his explanation.
Growing up, George was supposed to understand that telling the truth set people free, but in his current situation, all he could think about was lying to Doctor Escobar.
Given the pressure Doctor Escobar put on him, speaking the truth would almost certainly result in his being kicked out of the hospital.
"You are afraid to tell the truth because you know what I am capable of," Escobar questioned George's credibility.
He was not only full of doubt, but he kept asking George provocative questions as if it were a criminal case.
"What do I stand to gain from lying? If you are still unsure, you are welcome to call my friend," George, " Doctor Escobar. He appeared calm, but he had a troubled heart.
It was his first lie in a long time.
George kept a straight face while convincing the doctor. He also avoided smiling or showing his teeth.
"I have come to believe you. You do not have to explain yourself a thousand times to prove a point." In the end, Escobar agreed.
After seeing how George reacted, he concluded that the phone call was genuine.
"However, you must request that they arrive at the hospital on time." My patience has long been required. Escobar explained why he did what he did to clean up the mess he made.
He would prefer not to see his patient suffer another heart attack as a result of his anger.
George ignored the lengthy explanation, which sounded like damage control. He also forced Escobar to leave the hospital.
Escobar, on the verge of leaving, stopped at the doorway to ask. "If you need someone to talk to, I am here, I am a good therapist."
"But right now, all I want is to be alone. Can you accomplish that for me? I am fairly certain it is not too much to ask, is it?" George frowned.
This time, he did not hold back from expressing his emotions. He made it clear to Escobar through his facial expressions that he wanted to be alone.
"Yeah!
Sure! Have a fantastic day.
Please keep your son in mind." Doctor Escobar reminded George before closing the door and exiting the ward.
George waited for a few more minutes after the doctor left before reconnecting with Kelly via phone. It seemed to him that Kelly was still not at the mansion.
"Kelly, get the phone.
I sincerely hope that you are not teasing me." George rumbled. When he recalled his heart condition, he rapidly subdued his anger.
Kelly finally picked up the phone after multiple tries.
"Why are you not picking up the phone? Are you certain you have arrived at the mansion already, or are you lying to me?" George was furious as he hit the nail on the head.
"Why would I do something like that? You should know me better. Don't you believe me already?" Kelly denied immediately.
He attempted to portray himself as a victim. He had no idea George was already two steps ahead of him.
"I can see what you are doing.
But believe me, I am not going to fall for it. I did not call simply to argue with you." George spoke in a different tone of voice for the second time.
"I am currently in your residence. I just arrived. I am waiting for someone to open the door and allow me in. Are you content now?" Kelly answered.
"That is what I am talking about.
You should have please let me know about this sooner.". George entreated.
"I will do everything possible to get Conor to the hospital. There is nothing to be concerned about." Kelly assured George. He quickly ended the phone call to relieve his anxiety.
Not long after George hung up the phone with Kelly, a familiar face entered the ward to put more pressure on George.
It was not a coincidence that she showed up just as he got off the phone with Kelly.
In all honesty, she was the last person he expected to see during this critical period in his life.
"Do you mind if I sit inside? I can see how surprised you are to see me." She asked quietly.
She lacked the confidence to even look George in the eyes because she was well aware of her actions.
" I am still trying to figure out what is going on. What brings you here? You're supposed to be in my mansion with your father?" George questioned Katrina.
And when she tried to speak, George cut her off. "Wait a minute, did anyone notice you walking inside?"
"Of course, many people saw me walk into the hospital and straight to your ward. Why the question?"
"Forget it!
I knew you were going to ruin everything," George grunted quietly.
Katrina could hear him despite his efforts to be quiet.
"And what about the doctor?
Did he see you walking inside?"
George inquired.
He was so focused on the question that his life depended on it.
"Yes, he saw me walk in and did nothing about it. I just told you I had that all figured out," she explained, calming George's nerves.
She gave him a thousand reasons not to be afraid, and he was compelled to believe her.
"What brings you here?
You have not responded to my question." George drifts back to the actual discourse.
