Chapter 16 - The Wolf and the Zombie King

"Hmm?"

Hearing the sound, everyone turned to look.

They saw a handsome young man standing calmly and quietly at the doorway.

"Why is there another man here?"

Scarface frowned.

The three Zookeeper girls and the Old Groundskeeper were all instantly terrified, hearts filled with dread.

They knew there was absolutely no one named Ethan here.

He had appeared out of thin air!

"Hiss..."

The group gasped, a chill running down their spines.

Was he a man or a ghost?

The Executive didn't seem to care at all. He had killed countless people and was long numb to it.

A man... why not just kill him?

So, The Executive stepped toward Ethan, unaware that he was walking toward the abyss.

"Kid, you're dressed pretty clean. Die!"

The man threw a punch at Ethan's jaw. With his strength, it was enough to instantly kill an ordinary person.

But Ethan stood still, unmoving, a flash of red light in his eyes.

A strange scene followed.

The man's fist passed right through Ethan's body.

"What..."

The Executive immediately sensed something was wrong.

The person in front of him seemed incorporeal. He was standing right there, yet untouchable.

Eerie! He was instantly terrified.

A strong sense of unease spread through his heart. The scene was utterly baffling.

The others behind him were stunned, realizing this person was definitely abnormal!

Then, with a casual flick of his hand, a Dagger appeared in Ethan's grasp and plunged straight into the man's chest.

No blood flowed from the man's chest, but his expression froze, his pupils dilated, and he instantly died.

This was one of the abilities of Ethan's Corpse Domain.

To bypass the chest and attack the heart directly.

With a turn of his wrist, the Dagger in his hand carved the man's heart out.

The bright red heart steamed slightly, constantly dripping fresh blood.

"A ghost... it's a ghost!"

The few survivors had never witnessed such a terrifying sight. They were completely unnerved, and even the menacing Scarface's legs were shaking!

Ethan examined the heart, noting that the blood of the Evolved Human wasn't very pure, and the energy contained within it was no different from that of an ordinary person.

But on second thought, that wasn't quite right.

According to official reports, the strength of an Evolved Human came from the Brain Pellet in their head.

With this thought, Ethan looked down at the limp corpse at his feet.

He flicked the heart still on the Dagger aside, then stabbed the blade into the man's forehead, cutting his skull open.

Inside, he found a round, fleshy pellet, about the size of a thumb tip.

It contained pure energy and emitted a pleasant aroma.

"This seems worthwhile..."

Ethan retrieved the pellet and tentatively put it into his mouth. It tasted incredibly sweet, like an ordinary person eating Cherries.

Moreover, the power inside transformed into a warm current that flowed through his limbs and bones, providing immense comfort.

Unfortunately, the energy contained was too little. Ethan hadn't had enough...

His gaze shifted to Scarface.

Scarface instantly flinched, feeling as if a beast had targeted him. Scared nearly out of his wits, he shrieked and scrambled toward the door.

"Mommy! Ghost! Don't kill me!"

He reached the door, about to bolt, but with a flick of Ethan's hand, his long, slender fingers pierced the back of the man's skull.

Using the Corpse Domain ability, he extracted the Brain Pellet without penetrating the bone.

Scarface collapsed, slumping to the ground, instantly dead.

In a matter of moments, Ethan had killed two Evolved Humans, demonstrating extreme savagery.

"Please... don't kill me!"

"Waaah, spare us, please."

"..."

The surviving group's terror of Ethan reached its peak. They huddled together, begging for mercy.

Ethan glanced at them.

The flesh and blood of ordinary people meant little to him. He usually just considered it "Dog Food."

"I won't kill you," he stated.

"R-Really?"

The survivors looked stunned, clearly surprised.

Ethan nodded.

"I'm not some kind of demon..."

"Uh..."

The group's mouths hung open. They highly doubted that. Moments ago, they thought Ethan was more terrifying than any demon!

But just then.

A foul stench suddenly rose outside, and a wave of fierce hostility permeated the area.

"AWOOO~~~"

A wolf howl echoed throughout the entire Wildlife Sanctuary. The sound was shrill, desperate, and utterly maniacal.

It was a veritable Ghostly Howl. The sound alone sent chills through them all!

The Old Groundskeeper's eyes widened instantly, terrified to the extreme.

"We're in trouble! We were too loud, and the monster came back! It found us."

"Oh?"

Ethan turned to look outside.

Through the gaps in the steel bar blockade, Ethan saw a crimson eye, about the size of a lightbulb, glowing with a bloodthirsty killer intent, straining to peer into the room.

The survivors' faces turned ash-gray.

"It's that mutated beast! It ate all the animals in the Wildlife Sanctuary! It's come to eat us now..."

CRASH!

As they spoke, the wall of the house was struck by immense force. Dust showered down from the ceiling.

The beast was incredibly strong. After several more crashes, the steel bars blocking the opening began to warp, emitting a grating sound.

RUMBLE!

Finally, a huge gap was smashed into the wall.

Two hideous beast heads appeared before the group. It was a massive wolf, standing two meters tall, with a body bulkier than a Yak.

The most bizarre thing was that this wolf had Two Heads. Its four lightbulb-sized eyes flashed with malice, and its exposed, sharp fangs were as long as a Dagger.

Clearly, this was a mutated beast!

"ROAR—"

The Two-Headed Wolf roared at the people in the room, incredibly vicious and slightly triumphant.

The Old Groundskeeper raised a tranquilizer gun and pulled the trigger.

"Run if you can. I'm just an old bag of bones anyway. I've lived long enough; let it eat me first!"

But the Two-Headed Wolf's fur bristled like steel needles, and its skin was incredibly tough. The tranquilizer dart simply bounced off, a regular bullet might not even pierce it.

"This is bad..."

Faced with such a ferocious giant wolf, they were completely helpless.

That single action had only further enraged the beast.

It was clearly about to squeeze through the shattered wall.

Ethan stood calmly in place, observing with interest. Seeing the wolf's huge, robust, and streamlined body, it looked quite appetizing...

As a Zombie King, his main goal was to eat!

"What will this wolf meat taste like?"

"Huh?"

The few survivors were stunned.

He was planning to eat the wolf meat???

The giant wolf was now fully in the room, its two-meter height towering over Ethan.

Its two heads looked down at him, its mountain-like body radiating oppression.

But Ethan met its gaze, utterly fearless.

"Domain — Unfold..."

Instantly, the red glow in his eyes intensified, and a blood-colored domain began to spread out around him...
