CHAPTER TWO
Frank chuckled as he pointed a finger at himself. He had imagined all kinds of scenarios when he decided to approach this woman, he had been watching her for a long time after all, and he was quite aware of what her personality was like.
However, her calling him a pimp was not something he ever imagined would happen.
"You think I am a pimp?" He asked, raising an eyebrow as he regarded her calmly.
Krystal folded her arms across her chest as she studied the man in front of her. The last thing she wanted was to spend more time with him. He was good looking, however, she had other engagements.
However, there was something that made her want to listen to him. She knew that she was probably just wasting her time, but she was willing to give him an ear.
"You told me you would get me a job that would change my life. I am a young woman with no college degree, what kind of job do you want to give me? You look well dressed....." Krystal paused as she eyed his outfit.
It wasn't a name brand, but she could tell that it was expensive. His watch...she sucked in a breath.
She had seen that same watch on her phone once, and the price....it definitely wasn't cheap.
It seemed, this person was a successful pimp.
"It seems that your clients are important people, however, I am not interested in selling my body, at least not yet. If I am going to do that, I'll do it all on my own. I definitely don't need a pimp," she said and turned to walk away.
Krystal had had enough. She was too busy to be going back and forth with this person
However, the man just grabbed her arm and pulled her back to himself.
"Where do you think you are going? We are not done talking yet," he said, looking into her eyes.
Krystal was the perfect person for the plan, he just could not let her walk away like this.
Krystal's heart skipped a beat once she met his eyes.
"What....what do you want? Let me go!" She snapped.
Frank did let go of her, but he was still standing in front of her, a calculated smile on his face.
"You have the wrong idea, like I said, I am going to give you a job. There's a banquet holding tonight and we need waiters. It's an important banquet of course, so you would be required to keep quiet about anything that you see there," the man told Krystal.
Krystal blinked her eyes when she heard this. She had served in some of those banquets before, and she knew the rules.
However, it was just a one day thing. It had no stability at all. How was it supposed to change her life?
And this man....there was just one thing about him that made her guarded. She really didn't want to be in the same place with him anymore.
"I am not interested" she said coldly.
Krystal turned to walk away once again, however, his next words made her stop.
"The person you'll be serving is Lucas Fernandez." He paused dramatically and then continued a few seconds later, "yes, that Fernandez family," his words made Krystal freeze.
She turned to face him sharply, and she was suddenly on alert.
"Who are you?" Krystal asked, a frown on her face.
Her heart was racing fast against her chest, she knew now that he already knew her before he walked in here the first time.
He had been targeting her from the start!
A smile graced Frank's face. He had her where he wanted her now.
"Someone who wants to help you get back everything that was taken away from you. So what do you think? Are you going to take this job or not?"
.....
Lucas loosened the tie on his neck as his grip on the iPad tightened. He was reading the news with a dark look on his face .
He wanted to yell so bad, that idiot , Zain, did he have to make his life difficult in every way that he could think of?
Why the heck did he have a brother like that, anyway?
The headline was glaring, "Zain Fernandez attacks waitress and bar, condition of waitress unknown, will the Fernandez family cover this up for him a second time?"
Damn it, Zain had caused problems in the past, but this was getting out of hand.
The family of the woman involved insisted on getting justice no matter what, and they had blown up the whole issue.
Lucas was clear that what they wanted was more money, however, the public didn't know that, and it affected the company.
Lucas watched on his computer as the share price of the company dropped, unable to do anything about it.
He heard the door of his office opening, and he started barking out orders before he looked up.
"Find that bastard Zain and bring him here! He's the one who started this, and he'll be the one to clean it up!" He ordered.
"Zain won't be coming back home until this is solved, you know that. You are the CEO of the company, and instead of finding him, you should be thinking of ways to solve this."
Hearing that familiar voice, Lucas looked up shocked, it was indeed his grandmother!
He stood up at once, although he was no longer a child, the fear that this woman struck into his heart when he was growing up still lingered.
He was now the CEO of JJ cooperation, the largest company in the city, however, he still had to answer to his grandmother.
It was intriguing.
"Grandmother, why did you come here?" Lucas asked, a calm look on his face.
Diana Fernandez, the powerful matriarch of the Fernandez family shook her head.
If I didn't come, how were you planning to handle this situation? Your brother is in trouble ...you need to think of how to solve this! Those people....since they are not willing to settle, then we need to use other means! The shares of the company keeps falling, and we need to settle this as soon as possible," Diana Fernandez said, a cold look in her eyes.
Lucas noted that his grandmother had not blamed Zain even once, even though he was the one who started all of this.
It didn't bother him much though, he was already used to this.
"What are you planning to do?" He asked, going straight to the point.
His grandmother was right, no matter what his personal feelings were, stabilizing the company was the most important.
"Heh, since that family refused to listen and settle this issue privately, they can only blame themselves for what's coming. There's a banquet holding at the home of the chief of the police department today. You have to go there....and convince him to help us!" His grandmother ordered Lucas.
A bitter feeling settled in his heart when he heard this. It wasn't as if he hadn't thought of this before but ....
"After what happened last time, I sincerely doubt the chief of police will help us," he said drily.
Diana slapped a file on the table just then. "Show him what's inside this, and he will have no choice but to help," Diana had a sinister look in her eyes as she said this.
Lucas picked up the file and he peeked inside it. Shock appeared on his face, but then, he quickly relaxed.
His grandmother had always been a resourceful woman. Of course.....she could come up with something like this!
