Chapter 3 - Very unfortunate

"What does who I am have to do with me kicking your butt?" She asked arrogantly.

"You think you're a match for me?" The man asked.

"Well we won't know unless we try it out" Ava retorted, walking towards him slowly.

"It'll be a waste of my time" The man said, backing away slowly, for some reason, he has a little bit of fear in him.

He didn't know why he felt that way, it was unusual.

"Why not?Are you scared?" Ava said, smirking.

"Are you mocking me?". The man who couldn't take it anymore asked, his face pale with anger.

"Heck! Yeah I am". Ava replied, coming to a halt.

"Game on!". The man said, looking at Ava then at Dylan before walking away with the last man following closely behind him.

He stopped abruptly and said "You really have guts you know?".

He smirked and left vanishing into the other end of the alley.

Ava heaved a sigh and turned to the guy that was behind her.

She stretched forth her hands signalling for her phone, he handed it over to her.

"Those men are dangerous, try to be careful next time". Ava said to him and started walking away.

"I didn't ask for your help" The man said in a deep and magnetic voice, that was the first time he was speaking.

Ava stopped dead on her tracks, finding it hard to believe what she just heard.

What the f*ck does he mean by that sh*t he just said?.

"I'm sorry did I hear you correctly?". Ava turned around slowly while asking.

"Yes! You did perfectly well," the man replied, putting his hands into his pockets.

Ava looked directly into his eyes, she didn't know what he looked like as he had a mask on which covered his whole face except his eyes.

"Well we have an ingrate," Ava said, chuckling a bit.

"I'm not an ingrate, you just happened to pocknose into what wasn't your business" The man said.

"Oh really!?, fine then! I won't make such a mistake again" Ava said laughing.

The laughter didn't reach her eyes, she turned her back and left without a word.

Immediately she turned back, the laughter disappeared and was replaced with a cold stare.

She slung her hand bag over her shoulders, walked to her car, got in and drove away.

Dylan Robnson, the guy that finished speaking with Ava, was left alone standing on the streets.

His brief encounter with her had just stirred a particular emotional inside of him that he couldn't pinpoint.

This was literally the first time someone stood up for him fiercely.

Her actions actually interested him, he was really shocked at her defense skills and moves.

It was even much more interesting and shocking because she was clearly a stranger.

He felt this strange familiarity with her and was at ease when she was talking to those guys trying to protect him.

He reached for his pockets, brought out his phone and dialed his personal assistant number.

The phone was answered in just two rings.

"Yes sir!"

"Come to No.17 Washington street, I'm right there, come with backup to clear away witnesses"

"Yes sir!" Then the line went dead.

Dylan reached for his pockets and brought a cigarette and a lighter.

He put the cigarette into his mouth and lit it with a lighter. He took a puff and exhaled a thick ring of smoke.

Suddenly droplets of water touched him on his right cheek making him shudder slightly.

He looked at his wrist watch and saw that it was 8:30 pm already.

Just as he thought, droplets of water started dropping more and more, in a blink of an eye there was a heavy downpour.

Dylan didn't flinch or even make an attempt to look for shelter, he just stood there under the rain waiting for his personal assistant.

He threw the cigarette bud down to the floor and used his foot to extinguish the fire.

He looked down and saw that there was quite a pool of blood on the ground coming from the injuries of the men that were on the floor.

"Boss!" Billy Dylan's assistant called out to him the second time. Dylan was jerked out of his thoughts as he heard his name.

Dylan looked in that direction at which he heard his name and saw Billy standing there with a car to pick him up and some of Dylan's heelers, mini vans to pick up the other men on the floor.

Billy then took an umbrella and walked to Dylan, Opening the umbrella he put it over his head.

Dylan walked past Billy to the car, not bothering to stay under the umbrella.

Dylan got into the car and so did Billy, then with a slight nod from Billy the car sped off heading for the Robinson's villa.

3 other cars followed behind, with 2 others in front filled up with Dylan's armed heelers.

Back at Ava's home, she was very mad that she could feel her face burn. How could he talk to her like that?

Who would have thought that the guy she risked her life to save would actually blame her for saving him.

He was such an ingrate, she suddenly felt like kicking his a** and suddenly regretted that she didn't when she had the chance.

She dropped her handbag on the vanity and went straight to bed not bothering to take off her clothes, she was in no mood for a shower.

"Mummy you're back!!" A cute voice called from the door. Ava's 5 year old child called running to meet Ava on the bed.

"I thought my little princess was sleeping". Ava said, smiling heartily, completely forgetting her encounter with the tyrant.

"I couldn't sleep mummy, I was waiting for you to come home and read me bedtime stories". Aurora said, pouting a little bit.

"That's fine baby but mummy has to freshen up first, after that I'll come read you bedtime stories" Ava said to Aurora her mood slowly coming back in check.

"Yayyyy!!" Aurora cheered excitedly.

"Wait for me I'll be back" Ava said to Aurora and went to the closet to take off her dress.

Immediately the warm waters touched her body in the bath tub, she finally relaxed.

That was the first time she had felt relaxed throughout the whole day. She was in a good mood.

After spending 30 minutes in the bathroom she came out with a bathrobe on, her hair still damp with droplets of water rolling down her face.

She went out of the closet to check on Aurora and just as she thought, she was already sound asleep.

Her delicate face shone under the light making her look more adorable.

Ava just leaned on the wardrobe doorway staring quietly at Aurora's sleeping face.

She wouldn't say Aurora was a mistake because no child should be called a mistake.

Instead she was the best thing that had ever happened to Ava throughout her 23 years on earth.

The news of her coming shattered all Ava's hope of living at first.

it was so unexpected she was just an 18 year old teenager who got abused at work.

5 years ago Ava was working in a hotel as a cleaner always making sure she did her work right.

She didn't have time to date any boy let alone have sex with anyone.

That ill-fated night was the worst day in her entire life

she was working night shifts and was already tired,

She had cleaned 6 rooms that day and more were still assigned to her.

She hadn't eaten throughout that day and was already famished.

She was determined to finish working early so she could go home and eat because she was famished.

She was scrubbing the floor of the bathroom inside one of the rooms when she heard a noise come from inside the room.

"Hello?" Ava called in a shaky voice as she heard the noise.

The room wasn't supposed to be occupied by anyone as it wasn't available at that moment.

There were other rooms available, then she thought the receptionist made a mistake and assigned that particular room to someone.

Ava wiped her hand with a towel and went outside of the bathroom preparing to tell the person in the room that the room was temporarily unavailable.

She came out of the bathroom and saw a man lying on the bed.

She was puzzled as to why he was lying there, then there was a stench odour in the air, she sniffed at it and then scoffed in disgust.

The man was heavily drunk, the room smelt strongly of alcohol.

Ava shrunk her nose in disgust and walked over to where the man laid down and tried to have a look at his face.

Unexpectedly the man on the bed jerked awake and dragged Ava to collide with him on the bed.

He flipped over trapping Ava under him making it very impossible for her to break free.

"Trying to seduce me huh?" The man asked in a low voice, he was clearly drunk.

His low and husky voice clogged Ava's brain, almost making her lose her senses as she was disgusted and scared at the same time.

"Let go!!" Ava shouted trying to break free from him.

He leaned forward and took her earlobes in his mouth making her shudder under his touch, biting and nibbling at her earlobes.

She tried to scream, hoping that her voice would attract other people from outside to come help her.

The room was soundproof making it hard for anyone from outside to hear her cries and shouts of help.

She was raped in a hotel by a man she knew nothing about.

The most hurtful part was that he was long gone by the time she woke up, making her feel like nothing but a cheap slut.

Ava gripped the bed sheets tightly realizing that her first time had been taken away by some random stranger.

She wouldn't even be able to recognize him even if she sees him.

After 5 years, the child that Ava brought up was now everyone's cutie.

She sighed and went to sit behind the vanity to blow dry her hair.

After that, she walked to the bed to sit, then she adjusted Aurora to a comfortable sleeping position on the bed.

After making sure Aurora was comfortable, she pulled off her slippers and laid on the bed herself and turned off the bedside lamp, cuddling Aurora and patting her back gently.

Just as Ava was about to sleep she noticed something strange. Aurora's hair was glowing.

Ava thought she was seeing things or her eyes were playing tricks on her, not until she looked again.

Aurora's hair continued glowing, she had a pale shimmering blonde hair which was quite beautiful and silk.

Ava reached out to take some of Aurora's hair in her hand.

Ava peered closely at her daughter's hair not knowing what to make out of what happened.
