Chapter 8 - Chapter 8 - The Movement Skill

It happened after I killed another wolf — alone this time.

My sword was soaked in blood, my breathing heavy, my body trembling from exhaustion.

Then the familiar sound echoed again:

> [Level Up!]

[You have reached Level 20]

I dropped to my knees, laughing weakly. "Finally… level 20."

The system panel appeared in front of me, glowing faintly in the forest's shade.

My stats looked better than ever—but still, my skill list was almost empty.

Only one thing sat there:

> Arthur's Manual (A+)

No attack skill. No passive buffs. Nothing new.

Then I noticed a small icon blinking at the bottom of the screen.

> [Skill Draw Available – Reach Lv.20 to Unlock]

I froze, my heart pounding. "So this is it…"

I pressed the icon. The panel expanded, glowing brighter and brighter until it almost blinded me.

Then the pain came.

Not as bad as before—but still enough to make me grit my teeth. It felt like lightning ran through my legs and arms, burning every muscle from the inside.

> "Arghh—damn it!"

Sweat poured down my body. My hands trembled, but I refused to stop. The light surrounded me, pulsing, until finally—

> [Skill Acquired: Flash Step (B)]

Description: A movement skill that allows the user to move with explosive bursts of speed, channeling power from toe to arm. Increases attack speed and strike force for a short duration.

The pain slowly faded, leaving only a strange energy humming through my limbs. I stood up, breathing hard.

My body felt lighter.

My stance felt sharper.

Every step I took left a faint shimmer of energy in the air.

"Flash Step, huh…" I muttered, gripping my sword. "Guess I finally got my first real skill."

I smiled to myself. No one else was around—no one saw it happen. But deep inside, I knew.

This was the start of something different.

Arthur's memories had given me experience…

But now, I finally had power of my own.
