I woke up at 5 A.M., same as always.
Working out had become part of my life even before we got here — it helped me clear my mind.
After a few sets of push-ups and stretches, I went back to camp.
Everyone was already awake.
Riku and his twin, Sota, were quietly packing their things, but they told me they weren't coming.
"It's too dangerous," Riku said.
Even Luna, the Russian girl, didn't want to go.
The two Chinese, Xin Yi and Li Wei, also refused.
It seemed they already had their own plans since the start, maybe trying to survive on their own.
We didn't force anyone.
So only Minji, Hyun Woo, Marco, and I decided to go.
When we arrived, a lot of people were already gathered — maybe thirty or more.
I couldn't see anyone's level, but I had a feeling some of them could see ours.
We stayed cautious, hands near our weapons, eyes scanning everyone.
Then I noticed something strange.
When people saw Hyun Woo walking beside me, their faces changed — some looked relieved, some even smiled.
It seemed like a lot of them already knew about his S-rank Healing Skill.
I couldn't help but feel a bit of pride… and a sting of pain.
Sometimes, being strong wasn't enough — being useful was what mattered most here.
We waited until everyone quieted down.
Then Samuel stepped forward — tall, serious, his voice echoing across the clearing.
"Hi, my name is Samuel," he said. "I'm the leader of the Freedom group. All fifteen of my members will be joining the hunt."
He looked around, eyes sharp.
"It seems some of you have decided to come as well — I won't force anyone. But listen carefully…"
He paused, letting the tension build.
"The place where the Ogre lives — it's not just some random location.
We believe it's guarding the only path leading to the Human Territory."
A ripple of whispers spread through the crowd.
Human Territory. The idea of meeting real people from this world — it gave everyone hope.
Samuel continued, his tone firm.
"We've been stuck in this forest for months. The north route, past the Ogre's nest, might be our only way out.
If we defeat it… we might finally find civilization."
Everyone grew silent again.
The night before had been filled with doubt, but now… there was something else — purpose.
I glanced at Marco, who grinned and whispered,
"Guess we're not backing down now, huh?"
I smirked back. "Nope. We've come this far — might as well finish it."
