"Teacher Habu, I beg you, please don't tell Teacher Iketani," Obito pleaded persistently with Mokgetsu.
"That depends on your performance," Mokgetsu responded with a smile, not giving a specific answer.
"Teacher, is there something going on?" Might Guy scratched his head, confused as to why he was called out, as he hadn't done anything wrong.
Mokgetsu looked at Might Guy, who almost kicked the grand finale, known by Madara as the strongest Taijutsu user, but was still quite immature.
Although he was already wearing that iconic green tight suit, his strength and conviction were still lacking.
At this time, Might Guy believed that his daily training would make him a Taijutsu master, but he didn't fully understand the youth and self-discipline his father spoke of; he still needed to grow, and Mokgetsu was happy to lend a helping hand during this time.
"Your theoretical grades are causing Teacher Iketani a lot of trouble," Mokgetsu said.
Upon hearing Mokgetsu's words, even Obito, who was usually quite carefree, looked down in embarrassment.
"It's not that I don't want to learn; it's just the questions are too hard to understand. Why lock those animals together and ask how many there are separately..." Obito tried to make excuses.
Seeing Obito like this, Mokgetsu recalled his own high school days struggling with math and could only feel lucky that his major didn't require higher mathematics.
However, Mokgetsu knew the problem lay with Obito because the math taught in the Ninja Academy was the simplest kind, with fewer courses than even history.
"But you're lacking not just in math. You're also not good in history and Ninjutsu theory." Mokgetsu shook his head.
"What's the point of knowing that history? It's all in the past." Obito thought history as a subject should be canceled, while math might at least be useful for buying groceries.
"I think so too," Might Guy nodded earnestly, genuinely unable to memorize those historical facts.
"You'll have to take that up with the Third Hokage; he's the headmaster of the Ninja Academy," Mokgetsu said, indicating he had no say in that matter.
"But things can't continue this way; it's not good for either Teacher Iketani or you guys."
"Do you have any secrets for exams, Teacher Habu?" Obito looked at Mokgetsu expectantly.
Might Guy also looked at Mokgetsu excitedly. If he truly couldn't handle it, who would want to be the bottom of the class?
"There is indeed a secret to exams, which is practice exercises, reviewing while practicing!" Mokgetsu shared his secret.
Given the intensity of the Ninja Academy exams, he only needed to apply some test-taking experience from his past life to easily pass, as the Ninja Academy exam requires only half the class average to pass.
"Practice exercises?" Both had a confused look, not entirely understanding.
"You can think of it as a special training for exams. Plus, if you pass, I'll have a reward for you," Mokgetsu said with a smile.
"What reward? A rice dumpling?" Obito asked curiously.
"I can teach you Ninjutsu or Taijutsu, basically guide you in your cultivation," Mokgetsu replied.
"Really!" The two of them widened their eyes, unable to believe such a good thing had fallen into their laps.
"Provided you pass your exams in a month," Mokgetsu reminded them.
"Is this what youth is? I'm fired up," Might Guy said with some excitement.
"This time, I'm sure I'll pass," Obito promised.
Seeing the two already motivated, Mokgetsu nodded silently to himself. Advanced hunters often appear as prey themselves.
They felt like they had struck it rich, getting both a secret to passing and a cultivation reward.
Meanwhile, Mokgetsu could naturally become their teacher during the special training process, profiting nicely from it.
Even if, in the end, neither passes, Mokgetsu could still say, "Seeing how hard you worked, I can't not give you a reward," and maybe even earn more favor points.
The reason he couldn't just claim them as disciples like he did with Shisui was partly because the circumstances were inappropriate, making it hard to talk about repaying gratitude, and partly because Mokgetsu was only teaching one class, unable to maintain long-term contact. If he were the homeroom teacher, it would be easier to arrange.
After confirming the special training arrangements with the two, Mokgetsu brought them back to class.
"Obito, what did Teacher Habu call you out for? Did he punish you?" Nohara Rin asked, a bit worried.
"How could it be punishment? Teacher Habu is great; he taught me exam secrets," Obito immediately clarified for Mokgetsu.
As long as Mokgetsu could help him shake the title of the bottom of the class, Obito would become the number one fan of the Ninja School.
"Rin, you should also pay more attention in class; otherwise, I might surpass you in the next exam," Obito chuckled.
"It would be great if you could really surpass me," Nohara Rin said with a helpless smile, although she didn't rank first, she was still among the top.
When the class bell rang, Obito displayed unprecedented seriousness. This time, he was determined to pass and had already started considering what Ninjutsu to learn.
Nohara Rin was somewhat surprised to witness this, wondering if Obito was serious this time.
Three minutes later, seeing Obito slumped over his desk, Nohara Rin could only reaffirm that Obito was still the same familiar Obito she knew.
At this moment, a chalk head drew a beautiful arc, hitting Obito on the head.
Obito looked around in confusion, seeing Mokgetsu's face, Nohara Rin's face, and Might Guy engrossed in writing, remembering what he had said three minutes ago. His face turned a little red, losing any trace of drowsiness.
After the little incident of Obito falling asleep, the rest of the class proceeded smoothly.
[Class lecture complete]
[Evaluation: A]
[Reward earned: Leaf Whirlwind]
This time, the reward was not a Ninjutsu but a Taijutsu, specifically one developed by Might Guy in the future.
This Taijutsu seemed simple, just a kick, but Mokgetsu, who had already learned it to some degree, discovered it wasn't as easy as it appeared. Kicking posture, muscle outbreak, Chakra outbreak, all required technique.
Mokgetsu was worried about not having anything to teach Guy, so he was quite satisfied with this reward.
After school, Mokgetsu wandered in the forest on Konoha's south side, looking for a suitable place for cultivation.
In the end, he found a nice spot by a small river, secluded and suitable for training.
Mokgetsu noted the location and headed home.
Proving his caution wasn't for nothing, when he entered the courtyard, he found a ninja with an animal mask standing there.
