Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Will of Fire? Will of Nonsense!

"I never thought that after graduating from teacher training, instead of becoming a teacher, I would end up being one after transmigrating," Lee Mokgetsu complained somewhat helplessly to himself after sorting through his memories.

He felt like he had an undeniable karmic connection with the word 'teacher.'

In high school, he was considered one of the top students in his art class, so many classmates would come to him for help, earning him the nickname "Teacher Moon." Then, when applying for college, he ended up enrolling in a teacher training university because of his family's suggestion, choosing a teacher training major where the school excelled. During university, he tutored his roommates and got the nickname "Teacher Moon" again.

Unexpectedly, when he graduated, Lee Mokgetsu rebelled and became a civil servant instead of a teacher.

What he never expected was that on his first day of work, just as he walked through the office door, the next moment he transmigrated and became a new teacher just entering the office at the Ninja Academy.

The name of his current body was Habu Mokgetsu; his name was still Mokgetsu, but the surname was different.

"Sigh, this isn't a safe world—there are too many maniacs and paranoid psychopaths, and they're really strong," Mokgetsu sighed inwardly.

He casually observed the office, noting that it wasn't much different from his previous life's school office, but the sharp kunai placed randomly on the desk told him this was no longer his peaceful homeland.

What troubled Mokgetsu even more was that he didn't just have the identity of a teacher but was also a ninja in the Root!

The original owner of this body was an orphan raised by the Root from a young age, and became a teacher at the Ninja Academy by Danzo's order, to observe and record the students of the school, noting any potential geniuses.

"The place under the control of the 'Pot Shadow' is no good..."

Just as Mokgetsu was pondering how to survive in this dangerous world, a mechanical voice devoid of emotion suddenly sounded in his mind, and a transparent blue panel appeared before his eyes.

[Teacher System Activated, Congratulations! You have successfully become a teacher.]

[Giving lectures to students can earn rewards; the better the students, the higher the rewards.]

[You can take on outstanding students as apprentices for one-on-one teaching; as the apprentice's strength grows, the teacher receives rewards.]

[PS: Taking on an apprentice requires mutual agreement; it cannot be one-sided.]

Mokgetsu studied the blue panel. There were only two options, one labeled as a personal template and the other as mentor-apprentice. Mokgetsu opened the personal panel.

[Name: Habu Mokgetsu]

[Age: 18]

[Chakra: 4300]

[Skills: Three-Body Jutsu, Fire Release: Great Fireball Jutsu, Fire Release: Impatiens Fire Jutsu, Instant Body Jutsu, Konoha Style Taijutsu]

[Evaluation: An elite among chunin, slightly more important cannon fodder in war.]

After reading the somewhat harsh evaluation, Mokgetsu silently closed the personal panel and opened the mentor-apprentice tab, which was blank due to having no disciples yet.

When the bell for class rang, Mokgetsu remembered he had a class for the first period, so he gathered his things and headed towards the classroom.

Although he was a new teacher, there were not many teachers at the Ninja School, so Mokgetsu also became a homeroom teacher, leading a freshman class.

Mokgetsu glanced at the class roster and saw several familiar names.

There was Mitarashi Anko and also Hagane Kotetsu and Kamizuki Izumo, future 'Gate Guards of Konoha.'

When he saw the name Uchiha Shisui, Mokgetsu's eyes lit up; this one was an extraordinary genius.

Since the stronger the apprentice becomes, the more rewards the teacher earns, it's undeniably better to have more talented students.

Before entering the classroom, Mokgetsu adjusted his expression, walked in with a sunny and warm smile.

The Ninja Academy's classroom was designed in a peculiar way. Perhaps to make it easier for students in the back to see the front, the heights of the students' seats increased with each row.

Mokgetsu's arrival quieted the previously noisy classroom.

After all, they were just five- or six-year-old children attending school for the first time. Most of them were both curious and in awe of a ninja teacher.

However, there were exceptions, like a purple-haired little girl sitting in the front row with a single ponytail who boldly said:

"Big brother, you're really handsome. Are you our teacher?"

Mokgetsu smiled and nodded in response:

"That's right, lovely little student. I am your future homeroom teacher."

"Hehe." The purple-haired little girl, pleased by the compliment, immediately felt that this blonde male teacher was a good person.

The other students, seeing this interaction, also felt more at ease. Although it was their first time in school, they'd heard relatives complain about how strict teachers could be.

Mokgetsu quickly walked to the podium and wrote his full name on the board with chalk, then turned around to formally introduce himself:

"My name is Habu Mokgetsu, and starting today, I am your teacher. Please take care of me from now on."

"Yay! Teacher, my name is Mitarashi Anko," the purple-haired girl was the first to respond.

With Anko leading, the others also responded to Mokgetsu, including Shisui.

Mokgetsu felt a bit disappointed sensing the inactivity within the system, thinking he might recruit Shisui as a student through such means, acknowledging him as a teacher, but ended up failing to trigger a bug.

Mokgetsu didn't show his inner emotions on his face. Once everyone finished their introductions, he signaled for them to quiet down with a gesture of his hand.

"Before starting the lecture, let me ask you all a question: Do you know how Konoha came to be?"

The classroom quickly fell silent again, and everyone exchanged glances, unsure how to respond.

Shisui, who had already received education from his clan, knew a bit, but not being one to stand out, he wouldn't answer unless called upon.

"People built it, right?" Anko thought and replied.

"Indeed, it was people who built it, but what you need to know is, who exactly built Konoha, and why was it established," Mokgetsu continued Anko's line of thought without denying her answer.

"Before the era of the Ninja Village was the Warring States period, a time of endless war where even children your age might have to pick up weapons to fight. Fierce battles could break out at any moment..."

When speaking of this brutal history, Mokgetsu's voice turned somber, directly presenting the harsh reality of the Warring States period to the students.

Perhaps because kids in the Ninja World mature early or maybe because this is Konoha, many children felt the weight of it, changing the classroom's atmosphere.

"At that time, two clans stepped forward, one was the Senju Clan, and the other was the Uchiha Clan." Mokgetsu's tone changed slightly, from somber to passionate.

"I know, I know. The First Hokage Lord Hashirama was a Senju," a student exclaimed as Mokgetsu mentioned the Senju, feeling a sense of participation. They didn't know much about the Warring States period, but they knew about the Senju.

Shisui felt a bit disappointed that everyone was focused on the Senju, with no attention paid to the Uchiha. He didn't quite understand why, considering both were founding ninja clans of Konoha.

"To protect their clans' younger members, to ensure future children wouldn't have to fight, the two clans joined to create Konoha, attracting more ninja clans, finally ending the Warring States period, giving us the Konoha we have today."

"Wherever leaves dance, fire burns. The fire will continue to illuminate the village, allowing new leaves to sprout.

It's precisely because of our ancestors' fearless sacrifices that we have what we have today, as well as the Ninja Academy. This spirit of selfless dedication is our Konoha's Will of Fire!" After finishing, Mokgetsu's expression grew solemn, as if still mourning the ancestors.

He thought, Shisui might be interested in a teacher familiar with history and who understands the Will of Fire.

"So this is how Konoha came to be? Next time I pass by Hokage Rock, I'll definitely pay respects."

"I will also become a ninja of the Will of Fire in the future and protect Konoha!"

The students, imagining their ancestors fighting bloody battles for their homeland, felt their spirits ignite, all expressing their desire to learn from their forebears.

Shisui's eyes also brightened; he felt this teacher seemed a bit special and began to develop more interest in his upcoming Ninja School life.

Originally, he'd heard from his elders that the Ninja School taught what his clan had already covered, planning to graduate early to help in the Police Department. But now, it seemed not entirely the case.

"So, does anyone know how many types of Chakra attributes there are?"

"Five types: water, earth, wind, lightning, and fire," a student from a ninja family quickly replied.

"Not completely correct. There are seven Chakra attributes. Besides the five basic nature transformations of water, earth, wind, lightning, and fire, there are also two special transformations: yin and yang," Mokgetsu corrected with a smile.

This method of correcting after asking questions would leave a deeper impression on the students.

Then Mokgetsu began to talk about the fundamental understanding of Chakra, occasionally telling a joke to amuse the kids, making them laugh.

Time flew by, and soon four classes had passed. When the bell rang, Mokgetsu stopped and smiled:

"Class dismissed. Tomorrow, we'll discuss Chakra extraction!"

Mokgetsu directly announced the end of class and mentioned the topic for the next session.

Upon hearing Mokgetsu say class dismissed, the students were momentarily stunned, thinking they had just started, how was it already over? Reflecting back, they realized they had gone through four class sessions.

Because of Mokgetsu's guidance, they attended class attentively yet relaxed, so they hadn't noticed time passing.

"Chakra extraction, can't wait," Anko said, eagerly wanting to fast forward to the next day after hearing Mokgetsu's words.

Her family wasn't made up of ninjas, so she hadn't been exposed to this kind of knowledge in advance.

"Isn't attending class fun? My cousin actually deceived me, saying school was tough to endure. I'll tell my aunt about him stealing money for snacks when I get home." Kotetsu wore an almost-betrayed look of indignation.

"Wouldn't it be better to just use that to blackmail your cousin into giving you the snacks?" Kamizuki Izumo suggested his perspective.

Kotetsu suddenly looked enlightened, patting Kamizuki Izumo's shoulder and exclaimed:

"Great idea, brother! If it works, I'll share half the snacks with you."

Seeing Mokgetsu about to leave the classroom, Shisui thought for a moment, then got up and followed.
