Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: The Thief Leader: Dragon

It was a bright and sunny day. The port was bustling with life—workers shouting orders, cranes loading cargo, ships gliding across the shimmering sea. Everything seemed perfectly ordinary.

Then, suddenly—

A bolt of lightning tore through the sky. In the next instant, a glowing figure appeared above the port.

It was Electro.

Wearing a sleek black bodysuit and a dark mask, his entire body crackled with energy. Blue-white arcs of electricity danced across his muscular frame, his presence radiating both elegance and overwhelming power.

"Unidentified entity above the port!""Unidentified entity above the port!""Unidentified entity above the port!"

The alarms blared across the docks, red lights flashing wildly. Workers panicked and scattered, terrified of being caught in the chaos.

Electric arcs rippled around Electro, making him look like the living embodiment of thunder itself. His voice crackled with energy:

"Time to see how much I've improved this month."

A few weeks earlier, before leaving Long Country…

Electro sat cross-legged at the center of the training hall, sparks flickering around his body. His face twisted with focus and fury as he pushed his powers to their limits.

Then, a calm, composed voice echoed through the hall:

"Release all your power… then let it burn."

Electro looked up.

It was Master Chin Gentsai, who appeared silently before him—dressed plainly, wise eyes shining beneath his brows, his very presence radiating discipline and strength.

"Power unleashed recklessly can destroy," Chin said slowly. "When force grows too strong without balance, it breaks easily."

Electro listened intently.

"Your power," Chin continued, "comes from within—not from raw explosions of energy. To fight endlessly, you must find your strength in the depths of your spirit."

A spark of realization flickered in Electro's eyes. He finally understood—it wasn't about relying solely on outward bursts of power, but about drawing true energy from inner control.

"When you burn too bright," Chin said, "you become fragile—like a paper candle. A single gust of wind… and you're gone."

He paused, then added:

"Cultivate your core. Gather your energy inward. Through restraint and meditation, you'll learn to wield your power—rather than be consumed by it."

Electro bowed his head slightly, taking in every word.

"Learn inner observation," Chin advised. "Mind and body as one. Guard your inner energy with care. Only then will your power flow in full harmony."

Closing his eyes, Electro followed his master's teachings, meditating deeply. He could feel the electric energy within him flowing more smoothly, steadier, calmer.

As time passed, his understanding grew. True strength, he realized, did not come from fury or chaos—but from discipline and balance.

When he opened his eyes again, the lightning around him blazed brighter than ever—yet perfectly controlled. He had reached a new level, one step closer to becoming a true warrior.

He bowed deeply to Master Chin in gratitude.

"Your power is already formidable," Chin said with a kind smile, patting his shoulder. "But learn to control it—or it will control you. The path of cultivation is long, but I believe you will go far."

Back to the present.

Electro now moved like a living thunderbolt, dashing across the port faster than the eye could follow. Soldiers from the NESTS organization scrambled to respond, raising their weapons.

"Kill him! Don't let him near the core zone!" the commander shouted.

But Electro was untouchable. Bullets sliced through the air—but he was already gone, reappearing behind his attackers in a flash of blue light.

With a single gesture, he gathered a massive orb of electricity in his hands.

"Let's see you block this."

He hurled it forward. The glowing sphere exploded on impact—BOOM!—obliterating the enemy line.

Screams echoed through the smoke as soldiers turned to ash.

Panic spread. "Focus fire! Hit his weak point!" the commander yelled.

Electro smirked. "You think that'll work?"

He thrust out his hand.

A pulse of electromagnetic force burst from his body—bullets and shrapnel clattered uselessly to the ground.

"What… what is this power?!" the commander gasped.

Without a word, Electro surged forward again, his body flickering with blinding light.

Then—

He raised both hands, gathering all his strength. A colossal electric sphere formed above him, pulsing with destructive energy.

He slammed it down toward the NESTS defense line.

The resulting explosion shattered the port. Buildings collapsed, shockwaves rippled through the air, and the NESTS soldiers were completely wiped out.

The roar of thunder faded—only silence remained.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

Four sharp metallic sounds echoed from the wreckage. Four thieves leapt from the shadows, blades drawn, surrounding Electro.

"That won't do," Nathan Hawke said calmly, raising a single finger.

The thieves froze—suspended midair by his telekinesis.

Zap! Zap! Zap! Zap!

Electro raised his arm. A beam of pure lightning burst forth, piercing all four of them instantly.

"Who are you people?"

A cold voice came from the smoke. It was Long, the leader of the thieves. His sharp eyes gleamed under his hooded black cloak.

Nathan sensed more enemies hiding nearby. "I'll deal with the ones in the shadows," he said to Electro. "If things go bad, take to the air."

Long said nothing, his expression unreadable. His outfit was all black—tight combat pants and gloves decorated with golden trim, giving him a composed, lethal aura.

In the blink of an eye, Long vanished. He reappeared before Electro, claws extended, slashing viciously.

Electro dodged instantly, lightning sparking at his feet.

Long moved again, a blur of black shadow. His speed was incredible.

Electro narrowed his eyes—this opponent was fast, dangerously so. He summoned an arc-shaped shield of electricity just as Long's claws struck. Sparks erupted as the attack was blocked.

Seizing the opening, Electro countered with a charged punch, lightning detonating on impact and sending Long flying backward.

Long steadied himself midair, landing gracefully. His expression remained cold and composed.

He darted forward again, weaving between debris, his movements like liquid shadow. His strikes were sharp and relentless, aiming straight for Electro's vital points.

Electro responded in kind, lightning flickering across his body as he met Long blow for blow. Every punch carried destructive energy, each impact booming like thunder.

But Long's agility was uncanny—his footwork precise, his dodges effortless. No matter how fast Electro moved, Long matched him, always just out of reach.

"Your technique is impressive," Long said coolly, "but not enough to defeat me."

"Hmph." Electro smirked, lightning flashing in his eyes. "I've only been training with Master Chin for a month."
