Chapter 21 - First kiss

The rain had mostly stopped by the time they reached Taylor's house. Water droplets clung to her hair, and her cheeks were still flushed from the excitement of their confession.

Chris walked her to the doorstep, holding her coat close to keep her warm. "Here we are," he said softly, his eyes locking on hers.

Taylor's heart raced. "Thanks… for today, Chris. For everything."

Chris stepped a little closer, the space between them shrinking. "Taylor… I've been wanting to do this for a while." His voice was low, serious, yet filled with anticipation.

Taylor blinked, her breath catching. "Do… what?"

Chris didn't answer with words. Instead, he leaned in slowly, giving her just enough time to pull away — though she didn't. Their eyes met, and in that shared glance, everything was understood.

He pressed his lips to hers in a deep, lingering kiss. It wasn't rushed or hesitant — it was full of the emotion they had both been holding back: care, desire, and the excitement of finally admitting their feelings.

Taylor melted into the kiss, her hands resting lightly on his chest as if anchoring herself to the moment. Chris's arms wrapped around her gently but firmly, holding her close, letting her feel the safety and warmth he had always provided.

When they finally pulled apart, their foreheads rested against each other, breathing mingling in the cool evening air.

"I… I've wanted to do that for so long," Chris admitted, his voice husky but soft.

Taylor smiled, her cheeks still pink, her heart racing. "Me too," she whispered. "Me too."

Chris grinned, brushing a damp strand of hair from her face. "Good. Because I'm not planning on stopping anytime soon."

Taylor laughed softly, shaking her head. "You're impossible."

"And you love it," Chris teased, leaning closer again, just enough to make her laugh and shiver at the anticipation.

As Taylor stepped inside her house, she realized that today had changed everything. Their confessions, the rain, the warmth, the first kiss — it was the start of something real, something they would navigate together, no matter what challenges came next.

And Chris? Well, he had no intention of letting this moment — or Taylor — go.
